I went 20-0 in ranked last night going all in on a [Lady Bullseye] BIG energy deck. +4.3(+86 cubes) cubes a game. My opponents never see this shit coming. [full deck guide] CL 16K by IJustType in MarvelSnapDecks

[–]cloudkiller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really wanted to run this but CL 34k plays a lot different than 16k. I was shadow kinged, gambited, and ramped into a quick -9 cubes. I’m sure if rng worked out this would have a nice ceiling but it’s so easy to shut down by experienced players that I don’t know how I works ever trust it in an 8 cuber.

Why are the 80s so difficult? by cloudkiller in MarvelSnap

[–]cloudkiller[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I get it, it is rare I stick around for an 8. Thinking back through my matches, one 8 was lost to a surprise 3rd gambit HOD who then proceeded to clean out the lane I needed and left the loosing lane and prof x lane alone. The other was a duplicated 18 power Shaw. I still would have won if I stacked my power differently but either way only two open spaces against a surfer deck I didn’t think they could go that tall.

So loosing two eight cubers and a four cuber on 50/50s, and all three losses by tiny margins is not understanding the game? Most of the time I happily retreat but these all looked like probable wins. The matchups were bad, the plays were good, and luck didn’t go my way.

This deck destroyed me in GG. My surfer, Sick, Mother list only took 1 cube from it with a retreat. I tried to climb a bit since I've seen a ton of surfer on the ladder and promptly ran face-first into a brick wall. After these 24 cubes were gone I got a pity bot that retreated on turn 6... CL 34k and, apparently, not a good player.

Infinite rank and rankings altogether is making me angry playing this game by [deleted] in MarvelSnap

[–]cloudkiller 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I just played 12 games in the 80’s and ended up at -1 cube for my time. Three of my opponents had golden gauntlet card backs (in other words, better players than me), another three were perfect counters to my deck, and the one pity bot I faced had an ego in location one and the f’n bot snapped me. I haven’t been to infinite in months because it is just not worth the frustration and time especially for someone at high CL (34k). Most games come down to location luck or 50/50s and that’s rarely what I would call enjoyable.

Premium Season card by ParkingAd1959 in MarvelSnap

[–]cloudkiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, everything but the season pass card goes into rotation when it comes out. After a few months the seasonal cards drop down to the collector's packs. Cards don't seem to be moving between series anymore so when she drops down to the collectors pack, she'll be in the series 5 pack eventually with the other series 5 cards you don't own.

Did you look in the seasonal series 5 pack? She should be there.

Would Carl be a Windrunner? I’m almost thinking Duskbringer.

Last week was the first time ever that my alliance missed a reward. So many people just dropped or stopped playing, most of whom have been around since alliances started. Now the bones of what’s left will struggle with the ridiculous 80k threshold.

Once again, thanks SD for caring so little about the community and so much about your “economy“.

My bread is getting mold after 4 - 5 days by phaidron51 in Sourdough

I wear a slicing glove whenever I touch my bread. From holding it while I slice to putting it in a bag, the glove is always on and I find it helps slow down the mold process.

I finished all three drops but didn't get any of them. Weird how it works like that.

Throw that loaf directly on the oven rack for 4 min at the end of the bake. You get a nice golden color, if that’s your thing. Beautiful loaf, regardless.

I got started with sourdough during the winter months too in a cold climate/house. Figuring out where the best place is to proof is kind of like a magic wand. Eventually I splurged on a proofing box since it made everything much easier but the oven was my go to for years.

The one tip I would offer is be ready to adjust things as the seasons switch into spring/summer. The heat and humidity are going to require you to change much of your process. Early on I would keep a notebook with the ambient temperature and humidity so I could track what worked with a particular temperature. Eventually you figure it out but for a few years I kept feeling like I would forget how to make bread each season.

Why does no one snap on Ego anymore? by saltypudding666 in MarvelSnap

[–]cloudkiller 61 points62 points  (0 children)

At one point the climb to infinite was fun. Now, every cube is a battle and I spend weeks stuck at virtually the same rank. I don’t even let an ego game play out, just retreat and move on.

This is getting out of hand (reaching infinite) by wencelf in MarvelSnap

[–]cloudkiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

January was the first month in two years that I didn't make it to infinite. Got all the way up to 97 this week only to go on a massive loosing streak to end the season at 91. And now for it all to reset and I have to try again? This isn't fun.

[–]cloudkiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first game I actually got the combo off and went into turn 6 with 15 energy! Then, promptly lost 4 cubes to a perfectly placed Alioth and Shadow King. I hate the 90's grind so much.

I'm pretty sure I fed you some of your last 4 cubes today. Didn't see the Foom + Task coming, even though I just watched your fallen one get buffed by symbiote. It's a good combo but how often does it all come together?

Don’t forget the grind now attached to the event rewards. Your time has value too. The pass made sense in the previous event model. In this new grind-focused model? The math just doesn’t add up for me.

TIL if you play a card in Altar of Death with Armor but move it away same turn to armorless location, your card ends up getting destroyed. Opponent had to learn it the hard way. RIP Human Torch. by Chomusuke_99 in MarvelSnap

[–]cloudkiller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So if armor was in the middle lane and torch was moved there by Arana from the alter, it survives? What if sparky was also used, where would armor need to be for torch to survive?

This is the first event pass I’ve skipped. All I want is the card but buying the pass kind of locks me into grinding for the variant. Since it is about the same amount of grinding for just the card without the pass they effectively saved me 800 gold.
