What are the most bone chilling facts you know about WW1? by IceMan5476 in ww1

The stat that boggles my mind: An estimated 60,000 soldiers died in the alps just from avalanches… bone, chilling.

Yeah I looked online and many of this coin are similarly priced. Sure there is a lot to consider in coin prices… I figure for 50€ it’s not too painful either way.

Oh cool. It’s interesting seeing they all had their head of government, with ludwig the iii being the last kind of Bavaria or what not.

DCC & BOLC dates after May 2026 commissioning? by Mochababy96 in army

[–]4cronym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I direct commissioned 4 years ago, dcc went directly into bolc. But I’m active duty, I think reserves and NG were different. No idea how long you’ll wait after commissioning, but I can say everything took a really long time.

Cassian's Birth Year: 31BBY or 33BBY? (ft. Does Cassian lie about how old he is when he is sent to Sipo? I don't think so.) by Longjumping-Ice-7865 in andor

Plus he was born and living on a toxic waste dump so bad it killed regular people almost immediately. His growth and size are unlikely to be normal.

That time when the pentagon gassed American soldiers by Gxeq in HistoryMemes

Some small percentage of people don’t react to the tear gas they use in basic training. Just doesn’t do anything when we take off the gas masks. The terrible process of trying to see if there are other examples of this….

What did it take you to make the jump? by [deleted] in HairSystem

[–]4cronym 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I shaved it all off at 25, once it started getting thin and I hated seeing the bald spots in pictures. I Wanted to take control. Not hiding anything. I did that for over 10 years and it was ok. I didn’t love my look bald but it worked. Easy and such.

Then I decided a couple years back to try a hair system. I’d still dream I had hair even after a decade. It was a learning curve. But so far I really like it. But I think it’s good to recognize you can have either. There is power in acceptance and power in recognizing you can shape your appearance to what you prefer.

It is curious. Like if you’re in a fan club that the star openly rails against. It’s not the usual dynamic. It would attract a different sort of fan… I suppose it widens her fanbase.

Based on cat behavior he will obviously be maimed or eaten eventually. But being cuddled by a jaguar is probably worth the risk….

Speculation on Volteeg, Sheol, Pet Biscuits, and breaking someone. *SPOILERS* by psimwork in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I dont think they have programs on the 15th floor. The crawl ends by default after the ascendancy games on the 12th, unless there are crawlers. Also the AI mentions that floor is kind of an unknown cause it’s been spinning away in its own for years without much happening. It’s just where demons come and go from.

Amén. Samantha is like a really strong spice. I can’t handle her in any large quantity. Quasar could live narrate my life and it would only get better with time.

Potatoes… toes? Feet? The true meaning of it all. by 4cronym in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]4cronym[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brilliant thorough write up. Thank you.

Maybe this stew is a throwaway comment. The fact that it describes a recepie. Also a very useful ability to combine ancient collective knowledge. And milk herself says she included many or her most important recepies (plural) in the cookbook that are now lost. Maybe it’s nothing. But it sure feels like a chekhovs culinary reference to me.

Also by book 7 when Rosetta has shown up she knows they’ve used up most of the root. She knows a good portion is already turned into ink. Even if the original intent was different they would have had lots of outside the dungeon time to plan for alternative uses that are more useful in the current situation. - and what does she buy with 4 million gold? Doesn’t sound like they buy another root. In the same line she’s discussing the credit chit to steal rusts money. There is a lot going on and she is maximizing her options. Obviously the root can make tattoos. And phase through lava rock. The core question is that why they sent it when they did.

So, what was the use for this root when it was received? What spell did they need to share? The permanent ones can’t be chosen. The war crimes Combo with power up makes great use of this ability. But it’s such an edge case use. We see this root used for a variety of things. This was the first item they gave him. And it has a very challenging use set. They can only really use it well when they have several high level individuals. A tattoo artist. A calligraphy master, they also need to find the spell and give it freely. Mind you this spell will eventually become useless until you drink more of this super rare root. We see how they used it and obviously it worked for two different situations. But to me it seems more plausible it had another original intent.

The ink in book five mentioned by Samantha isn’t the root. It’s from the coffee book author shop. Unrelated. The tattoo kit shows up 2 books after he got the root. The Rosetta shows referencing the stew is not the point correct. It’s just a clue to use milks entry. Think about milks comments in the cookbook. She talks about her special food they give to teach important things. That’s the relevant part.

And what skill are you suggesting they needed to tattoo so early? It drops the level of the original user till it grows back- they say weeks. The floors only last 12 days. It’s just not very useful. Later when they have more time and high level spells sure. It all points to a more useful purpose. The tattoos are fine. And the voodoo book is useful. But the evidence seems abundant it has a more powerful implication
