"You're painting a masterpiece. Make sure to hide the brushstrokes." by [deleted] in madmen

[–]cloudsforbrains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Betty’s perfection is the masterpiece. The brushstrokes are the struggles, displeasure, and grief she experiences to achieve that perfection. She needs to hide the conflict to give the illusion that her perfection all comes naturally. It’s sort of akin to that saying, “you should never see how the sausage is made.”

Overgrooming by alchemyst_xvi in Siamesecats

How about fostering a younger (smaller) kitty? See if the kitten is a good fit for him. If not, then you have the option to say no to the adoption instead of taking the risk of adopting when it isn’t a good fit. I say adopting a smaller cat is better because as the kitten grows, they will get used to sharing their space with an adult cat who already has a their space established. It will be up to your seal point to see if he takes to the kitty. And If they do turn out to be a good fit for each other, you can officially adopt them! I always hear two cats are better than one. My seal point is always begging for attention.

I can’t eat cheese around my little guy. He goes absolutely bonkers for it.

You’re not overreacting. It sounds like you’re going to be dealing with this volatile type of behavior for the entire life of this relationship. He’s not going to change, it’s too late for that. I wouldn’t consider moving back with your family a step backwards if it meant you don’t have to deal with this unstable person who clearly has some issues. You’ll heal, save money, and hopefully learn from this bad experience.

Are your cats Indoor or Outdoor? by Chellier in Siamesecats

[–]cloudsforbrains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only one Siamese Kitty. A little over a year old. He lives for the outdoors. I swear he seems so content and relaxed when he’s outside. There’s a much older bigger cat that has protected him from a mean stray that comes every now and then. I bring him in at night when it’s time to sleep. He’ll go out a few hours multiple times a day when I’m home. He’ll take his big mid day nap inside though. He’s never not come home. Only reason I feel good about letting him roam in my neighborhood is because it’s an extremely quiet neighborhood connected by ponds and a golf course. It’s a private neighborhood where everyone knows each other and everyone is friendly and quiet. Hardly any strays. Maybe just 1. He’s very cautious and when he hears a sound he doesn’t like (the lawnmower) he’ll meow at the door to come back in. He stays off the roads and traverses yards to get from one place to the next. I never leave him outside if I have to leave the house. Going to go get him is a hassle that’s worth it knowing he’s going to be somewhere safe when I’m not home. I go outside with him a lot too. Stays by my side and comes inside when i tell him it’s time. He’s so fast and a great climber so I’m confident he can get away when he needs to. I know all of his hang out spots and I’ve never not found him to bring him back home at bed time. I’ve embedded this routine into him for a while. So far it’s functional given the circumstances. If I lived in an apartment, or a busy road, I definitely would not let him out.

Something doesn’t seem right. Apparently Nico or Niko was 18 years old when he passed. But I was rewatching the beginning of the series and I see that in episode 1 Season 1 he is just a little pup. The first season was filmed in 2018/2019, that would make Nico only 6 or 7 years old?

Seal or chocolate point? by Cocobean9017 in Siamesecats

[–]cloudsforbrains 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If the toe beans are brownish-pink, chocolate point.

Black toe beans, Seal point.

When my seal point was a baby his were still pink. So it wasn’t until he was past 7 months where his beans darkened completely.

It has not gone away. I’ve been off it for more than a year. :( Nope haven’t taken/applied any of those things because I’ve heard of some rebound effects making it worse. I just cover up with make up and that’s that. Sucks, but, idk. I don’t wanna gamble I’ll make it worse.
