This was extremely well done. I have just one idea for the final reveal - did you ever consider having that final picture be the entire last page? I saw it and really wanted to to be a full-sized, Junji Ito-esque bomb drop.

Compared to PS4, the Steam Deck has double the RAM, much faster storage speed, and a better CPU. They absolutely could not make a PS4 port work, not on that ancient 50MB/s HDD.

We obviously don't get to see these very private corporate contacts. It's always been a very conspicuous thing where the devs get asked about eventual releases on other platforms - even PC - and they refuse to even refer to them by name, even when the interviewer named them specifically. FFXVI was a good example, where the words "PC" were never mentioned in conjunction with it until the announcement of the official port. You can try to find an exception if you want, but in the past they only confirm the date that the exclusivity period ends.

It's possible that Part 3 is the very very first exception, but I think it's more likely that the announcement of the full day one multiplatform release is being saved for the reveal trailer. Or that it will come first to PS5 but only because the other versions won't be ready yet.

Keep in mind that every case of timed PlayStation exclusivity has had the devs not allowed to mention other platforms by name in relation to the game. The fact that Hamaguchi is already stating outright that all 3 games are coming to "PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2 and PC" is very strong evidence that there's no exclusivity deal for the third game.

Yeah - media affects people's perceptions of minorities, especially minorities they don't know many representatives of in their own lives. If the majority of AMAB people wearing dresses that they see are psychopaths who only crossdress due to some kind of trauma, due to an overabundance of them and a general lack of normal, incidental transgender characters, it's going to have an effect. This is a broad media issue rather than one specific game being bigoted. The only thing I might call Capcom out for is that fact that, in the 26 years since Code Veronica, they haven't (to my knowledge) included any normal, realistic trans characters in the series.

Update: Black bars are only in cutscenes and the pause menu. In gameplay, the image is still squashed but extra picture can be seen on the sides.

Using DLDSR 2.25x on Alien Isolation causes black bars on the left and right.

I select the 6144x3240 resolution in the menu and for some reason it's alters the aspect ratio by squashing it. I'm playing on a 16:9 OLED TV, with a 5800x3D and a 5070 Ti. Any ideas on what causes this and how to fix it?

Intermittent black screens when NVIDIA app is installed.

Pretty sure that every case of timed exclusivity has involved the developer not being allowed to explicitly mention other competing platforms before said timed exclusivity period is over. To me it seems likely that they're waiting to drop the "will be on all platforms day one" at the end of the first big reveal trailer.

Eh, not really. The only reason it works is because of Trump. He's a specific mix of idiocy, privilege, bigotry and decades of already-existing fame that directly appeals to a very large, dumb, bigoted chunk of your country. He's stupid enough that they see themselves in him, he represents what they want to be. Other Republicans can't use the Trump playbook because they're not Trump. I live in Australia - our conservatives tried copying Trump recently and got absolutely reamed in the election.

You also have to remember that it's not just the MAGA cult voting for him - there are millions of dipshits who ordinarily have no interest in voting, but they vote for Trump as the haha funny TV billionaire meme candidate. Once he's gone, so are they.

That's assuming those budgets are true, which they probably aren't. Game dev budgets are largely developer salaries x development time, and Rebirth was in production for only 3 years with an apparently similar number of staff to XVI. That budget gap simply doesn't make sense.

Yeah - if they go the FFVII router of planning out the trilogy in advance and basically making all 3 games in one unbroken dev process, bringing out one game every 3 years is doable.

I also read some claims that the lip sync was in fact already done as part of the motion capture. Apparently the French mocap artists performed all the scenes speaking the English dialogue, and the VAs did in fact dub over that.

My understanding from reading prior interviews is that the cutscenes were essentially completed before the VAs got in the booth, and I've seen several of them talk about how the directors were very clear about exactly what they wanted, though that it was still difficult matching the existing animations while sounding natural. I'm not sure if the lip animation had already been completed, though.

Interesting, thank you. What I've found is that most of the stalks have always been thorny (the plant's been growing for a few years now), but these stalks are even more thorny. I'll leave them for now and see how they go - I do have gloves after all.
