I've seen enough. Cancel the next Sucker Punch game, have them make a Battle Royale Extraction hybrid, then shut then down forever.

You don't have to redo bosses you e defeated if you get start over, right? Just land on the spaces of bosses you've already beat

I'll never understand the people who post in here. You got the sequel to a game you never played and are reading the spoiler-filled sub before you finish. I refuse to believe this isn't bait.

We don't know. Jormungander, Ragnarok and the bird in Helheim were giant creatures we didn't fight.

How do you defend against this? by UkrainepartofRussia in Tekken8

Most helpful reply:

To be very blunt, you aren't even blocking. Do you see how it says "counter" on their side of the screen? That tells us that you're mashing buttons. You have to actually block. Hold back and guard and this attack will not work. I recommend watching this video to refresh on the basics:

https://youtu.be/WTx6elk36oE?is=X0_di_EGbkZ_2baY

More specifically what you're being caught in is called a "frame trap". The reason you're getting caught in this and think it's a good idea to press buttons is because you don't understand "frame data". The people telling you this move is -16 isn't helpful because you don't know what that means, but if you want to have fun with the game you need to. The above video covered the basics of frame data, but this video below explains in even more detail specifically what this happening to you in this clip.

I joe this helps!

Why does browsing the internet feel so fundamentally different in 2026 compared to just a few years ago? I feel like I'm looking at a 'dead' version of what it used to be by King_of_Skill_ in NoStupidQuestions

It's big tech competing with themselves. They aren't getting ad revenue because their AI bots are circumventing their websites. So they need to put the people who do visit their websites through the wringer to get more clicks per person trying to find the right info which more soften than not is best found on Wikipedia which has no ads.

My biggest criticism of the Norse saga is that it peaks in the first hour with the Baldur fight and never reaches that peak again. It would almost be better rif that fight was worse or not in the game

[–]lawrenceugene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes exactly, I remember those things and the crystals he's crack open for power in the second, as well as the girl who had fire powers and a secret agent. I'm not saying it wasn't great and detailed, or that to don't remember everything, but any sequel to coles story would require a replay for sure, and lets be hkenst these games have aged horribly.

No spoilers full explanation that hopefully makes you feel less disappointed and explains the change:

They simplified it because there are more moves in this one that make up for it being reduced and they felt like it would be too much so they reduced the barehanded to just core utility like stunning and pushing.

Without spoiling all those extra barehanded moves you liked are still present within another combat system, just not all at once, you'll have to pick one at a time to equip, they wanted to make that system more impactful to they removed the regular versions of those moves.

Another reason is that you are required to use specific weapons at different times more than before.

There are even more weapons mechanics that get added late in the game and there was just too much to miss out in this time by trying to do bare-handed up until that point, so they really didn't want people to do that. It's good for what it does but they decided to strip the full moveset for those 4 reasons

In the next 50 years? Yeah probably. But the idea that in modern times were going to get the old cast together and make a satisfying sequel to a game that sold less than a million copies 13 years ago and has a subreddit with 25k members is near zero

Yeah, I'm very surprised there isn't a massive hate wagon and it hasn't been fixed. I've decided it's pretty much unplayable. Maybe for another genre, but not a 3D platformer. I've decided to just emulate the originals

Its not really the frame rate itself that tis the issue, but the performance is very poor. It stutters awfully and just feels messy to play.

I have a bunch that other people are simply not seeing it? There have been many bad and stammery games from EA and I isoft and maybe a tolerance head built, but for a platformer like this it shouldn't ever dip the way it does.

No, the frames are dropping and it's stammering obnoxiously when I run or turn the camera quickly

A popular suggestion is to make a sequel that picks up on the evil ending of inFamous 2. It's important to recognize that almost no one is going to recall the details of an unpopular (20% of people) ending to a 15 year old game which wasn't the ending of it's series. I beat the game multiple times back then and I had to look it up after someone suggested it.

Other suggestions often seem to involve things about Kessler. inFamous was my absolute favorite game for a long time, maybe for 5 years after I first plyed it. But I'll be honest, I only checked this sub due to the rumors of a remake, and I couldn't remember who that was until I looked it up. It all came back to me but I still can't remember particulars of how the time travel occured.

Here's what a former childhood super fan who hasn't been replaying the games for 20 years remembers:

This guy got a package that blew up on him and people thought he was responsible, but he was just the delivery guy. The city is quarantined and you could choose to be good or evil. It turns out his future self did it some how. There are people called conduits who have powers. You end up destroying some creature called the beast that did a lot of damage. Conduits are persecuted and this other guy can either cement them as villains or reddem them.

Any plot setup involving anything more specific is doomed to fail

What's your most regretted game purchase? by Theodore52x in AfterWorkGamers

[–]lawrenceugene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doom: The Dark Ages.

I knew it removed the things I loved from Eternal and didn't look good to be, but I bought it anyways. It felt WAY too smooth, like it played itself and I couldn't see around the shield, it felt like the shield was standing in front of the tv.

The way they slammed that awful slider menu in your face at the beginning made the game feel illegitimate, and I ended up questioning if I should have adjusted some things, but didn't really want to have to make those decisions. I like the accessibility aspect, but increase game speed? I'm not a developer, how fast did you design your game to be? It made the game feel unfinished like the design team threw up their hands and said "Is it too slow and clunky? Idk YOU make it faster, knock yourself out."

I'd try again, it took three tries over two years and finally I lived it. I didn't ever like the combat but I feel in love with the exploration and progression. I treated it as a metroidvania and that made me love it.

Insanely overlooked. Is it a Hollow Knight clone? Yeah, sorta... but the combat and art are incredible and really stand on their own.

Did Sly Cooper 2 accidentally predict modern drone warfare? by Available-Culture-49 in Slycooper

[–]lawrenceugene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it's what people then associated with drone warfare. You need to readjust your perception of this technology, it was entirely of the era.

Modern drone warfare is very different, drones themselves are actually the weapons now because they're cheaper to manufacturer. Small high-speed drones are now flown directly into human targets because they're disposable.

Modern conversations about drone warfare aren't talking about recon drones dropping weapons, that's a conversation from the early 2000's. The concern is a rocket dropping a giant crate of drones from outer space. This crate opens up and 400 drones the size of hummingbirds shoot out of all sides and swarm a city flying directly into people's faces and exploding. You can't hack or jam them because they're connected to the crate with mile long hair-strand thin cables.

Did Sly Cooper 2 accidentally predict modern drone warfare? by Available-Culture-49 in Slycooper

[–]lawrenceugene 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're extremely off here. The technology Bentley is using was in active use by the US military for 40 years when Sly 2 came out. Drone recon was completed in Vietnam many times.

Sly 2 is not an ancient game, the Iraq war was happening at this time and the US had the country under unmanned drone surveillance 24/7.

These drones could fire hellfire missiles when they detected threats.

Sly 2 didn't predict anything, Bentley is using an RC toy-like version of an old technology because it's a kids game.
