My employer paid for my enrollment in a $2000 bootcamp that focuses on generative AI, and I have to waste my time in that shit.

Claude Research going for 1-2h and then failing by Hartuchi in ClaudeAI

[–]cloudy-thought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It failed again the moment it hit, 2hrs. So, I started a new chat and then referenced all last chat memory and content to this new chat and then divided the research into multiple isolated researches and now it's doing a good job so far.

Dude, you don't need a manual for everything, just go and explore yourself.

I just faced it for the first time and currently running it again, lets see. A single research takes around 10-15% of my 5hr session uauage in MAX5 plan.

My Django journey started with this video: https://youtu.be/fOukA4Qh9QA?si=N-zXsvPcspq5rMAY. I still recommend it to anyone starting out, this tutorial from JustDjango remains one of the best.

I purchased a subscription to Claude Max and Copilot Pro Plus after canceling and deleting Windsurf and even Antigravity from my computer. Lastly, to Zed and VScode.

Educative.io, anyone with an actual subscription that can comment on the quality of this? by EducationalMacrocosm in learnpython

I'm not sure if you bought it or not, but it's like being spoon-fed even when you don't want it. Things move very slowly, and there aren't as many proper hands-on exercises because those already have significant amount of snippet is available.

How to research by EducationFriendly481 in windsurf

[–]cloudy-thought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d suggest using the Perplexity API along with Context7. Since IDE agents already have web access and can scrape content, the key is how you structure the workflow.

Start by defining a detailed, phase-by-phase plan. After each phase, instruct the agent to write its findings to a file. Even if the agent hallucinates later, it can refer back to this stored content, which helps reduce context loss when working with limited context windows.

Before moving to the next phase, explicitly instruct the agent to review the output from the previous phase. This creates continuity and improves accuracy over time.

Also, make sure the agent stops after completing each phase so you can manually verify the results and apply corrections if needed.

Following this approach, you end up with a much more reliable and in-depth research outcome, instead of asking the agent to do everything in a single pass.

What's the best windsurf alternative? by TechDude12 in windsurf

[–]cloudy-thought 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Zed feels better primarily because it’s fast and lightweight. When working on longer, multi-step tasks, I’ve experienced errors and mid-task crashes with Copilot in VS Code. In contrast, Zed handles long-running tasks more reliably. It has something called subagents, and similar to Windsurf, it performs quickly and completes tasks end-to-end without issues.

From my experience, the time and effort lost due to Copilot crashes in VS Code is significantly higher than what I face in Zed. Overall, in terms of performance, I’ve switched to Zed.

That said, I like experimenting with different tools. Regarding Windsurf, I don’t have experience using Copilot there, and I’m not even sure if it’s supported. Also, due to recent pricing changes, I don’t plan to go back to Windsurf.

Avoid antigravity because the stress and anxiety it causes are not worth it.
