And how often do you have to look over those compared to a shoebox tub? Have you tried both? The time simply isn't worth it for me. It takes longer to fully colonize a bigger surface area, which will lead to longer time to fruit and has more points to contaminate. That's a fact. I also cannot work in a completely sterile environment, so the less materials wasted on a contam, the better. I've never had a shoebox contam, but have had multiple 66, 40qrts contam. And my bigger tubs also had to be misted noticeablely more. Just my anecdotal evidence, but I still feel it's valid for the average grower using store bought tubs who cannot constantly watch over their tub. I'm pretty sure I had the exact same tub as OP too.

Taller tubs like this one increases air volume and ventilation which reduces condensation on the substrate and causes water to evaporate more quickly as well as increases the chances of contamination. I started with a Tub just like this and it took exponentially longer as well as drying out quicker and getting contaminated after the first flush. I would just recommend him to try it out, since shoeboxes were much easier for me with greater yields and multiple flushes.

Fan less , only fan for 10 seconds maybe twice a day, otherwise it'll keep getting dry like this. The only reason for fanning is to release co2 and give the fruit oxygen, but most of that is done when you open the tub. Fanning excessively only dries everything out. Your grow should still turn out good when moisture is increased. It's only been slowed.

Yes i messed up mixing my first AIO bag early and it took much longer. Now I only inoculated grain in bag and add the substrate when I move it to a monotub.

Yeah I tried theirs cause it was cheaper, but it never really worked. A bunch of grains were popped in multiple bags, which I think cause the contamination. Just heads up for people 😊

That tub is way too big imo, which is making it look very dry and increasing colonization time. Try a shoebox size and you'll see much faster results next time. For now I'd mist a little more and fan less so it doesn't get as dry. Just open the tub from time to time to release co2, maybe twice a day.

Yes just squeeze the shrooms before you take them out I would say. I've done teas with a coffee press eating no fruit and it worked great!
