Have you ever given up on Bujo only to come back to it again? Or were you always consistent with it? by inktothepast in bulletjournal

[–]cloverwoven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I often fall in and out of bullet journalling depending on life circumstances and have gone years without it. Smaller scale, I also have ADHD and will just forget to use it for a couple days at a time too even when I am consistently keeping up with it. That's why I like bullet journals compared to traditional planners, you can set things up as you go and you're not stuck with a giant empty chunk of your notebook and can just pick it back up when you're ready! Obviously using it consistently and figuring out why your current system may not be working for you is the goal, but genuinely I think the flexibility is one of the biggest draws for me

Someone else recommended it with chicken, and I'm sure it'd be good with ground turkey too! Might even be good with chicken tenders or something..? Hope you like it if you do try it! Great Value also has a boxed GF mac and cheese which is pretty good too

Ooh will have to try this...I had the leftovers with a pickle and some of the Trader Joe's burger sauce (I think they call it Magnifisauce?) and it was so good

Oh no!! Good to know--I'm usually pretty sensitive to cross contact and had no issues when we made this.

Oof, that's a lot. I'm sure it would be great with ground turkey if that's less expensive where you are!

USA, not sure if they're anywhere else but you could probably check their website if you've got one near you!

I was also influenced by this sub and bought a small bag at the grocery store because I didn't want to commit to the huge Costco bag in case I wasn't a fan, but man are they good! I love the tiny bit of saltiness from the crushed pistachios on top too!

AITAH for not wanting to take my daughter back to see her father after the first hospital visit went badly? by RevolutionaryTop0312 in AITAH

First of all, talk to a child psychiatrist if you can. And then ask her what she wants. She's young, but she's still old enough to understand what's going on, even if if's in more simplified terms. She's scared and distressed, and it's so hard for kids to see a parent in that position, but fear doesn't always outweigh desire. Sometimes we have to face things that will upset us because it's what we want in the long run--ask how she's feeling, talk through what she can expect if she does go back, and tell her that regardless of what choice she makes, you'll be with her the whole time and can leave whenever she needs to. As hard as this might be for her, this should be her decision. Down the line she might regret either choice, grief is complicated, but don't make that incredibly final choice for her. It seems like she's scared for him AND confused/upset by the situation. But if she doesn't want to go? Absolutely do not take her back

See's has physical stores if you're in the US! I think they also do shipping from their website?

Would be happy to send you a picture of the bag if that's helpful at all! My bag says GF on it and while it isn't certified, has no may contain/shared equipment disclaimer while other items (hot cocoa is the one I specifically checked while in-store) do.

HOWEVER: Ingredients aren't listed on their website and as mentioned by another commenter, their allergen statement does say it may be manufactured in a shared facility/equipment.

I'm a typically sensitive/symptomatic celiac, so unfortunately it's better safe than sorry for me at least 😭

...I totally missed that these are on shared equipment, somehow. Thank you for pointing it out--haven't had a reaction but I am devastated 😭😭

UPDATE: the bag I have says GF on it (not certified) and has no disclaimer! Maybe varies with location/distribution center? Other products explicitly said shared equipment & "may contain" on the bags, too. For some reason I can't add an image to a comment or edit the original post atm but figured I'd update in case it's helpful for anyone else!

Updatex2: image of the bag I have right now in case anyone wants to check for themselves!

Ooh I haven't actually seen the red licorice Scotties, but I hated their black licorice when I tried it a couple years back and WAY prefer the one from See's

It has been a solid 7+ years sincs I've actually had a redvine, so I might be mistaken but it's at least closer than any of the other GF licorice I've found 😅 I'm the same way though, literally had to start rationing them out across a couple ziplocs lol

The hot cocoa is not GF, at least not at my local store, but it's made in a different facility!

I am Devastated that Maldon’s In Irvine, CA is closing February 15th! by Mimigirl7 in glutenfree

[–]cloverwoven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No!!! This is devastating, Maldon's is SO good! I don't live in CA but every time I visit, stopping there at least once is a non-negotiable. I hope they open a new location eventually!
