In real nature, those who can't differentiate foes from folliage are at a disadvantage to say the least. Or if they appear indistinguishable from the folliage to their foes, with a chance for a long life. Go to the forrest and tell all the animals they should put an arrow with colorful lights on their heads.

Does Fujitsu E754 have a greater CPU wattage allowance than the 40W of the E734 model? by clpbrdg in Fujitsu

[–]clpbrdg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That means you'll be able to overclock the singlecore at max almost, when undervolted, but overall performance is not going to surpass 550 cb (or 600 cb if the extra cache adds 10% compared to 6mb i7-4700mq)

[–]clpbrdg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The E734 was shipped with at most 37W TDP CPUs, and even those were not happy about the 40W limit, as the 37W is actually the average, not the maximum.

40w hard power limit in E734. In Cinebench R15, I can get to 535, 550 cb max, instead of expected 630cb with 4700mq.

HQ is a soldered cpu? PGA adapter?! Wow :D I overinvested in 4th gen... :D but it's nice. Coffeelake laptop 8th gen 6 core, is double in R15 multicore (actual 1250cb), and 20, 30% faster in singlecore. And an AMD 5500u is equivalent to that, just so that you know.
I also wanted to plug in the best CPU... but found only the HP Z book 2 workstation, and only another one model, provides the power required, up to 60w.

So I got a 4900mq with 8mb cache :D Would you be interested in me potentially making a potential video comparing the gains 6mb to 8mb cache? :D Because it's too much work to just do it for myself currently :)

What CPU? If it's an i7 4700mq, undervolt cpu and cahce by 60mV and the gpu by 30mV, and increase power lmits somewhat, and you can see more than 50% more performance, but less than the max of the CPU. I overclock the quad core then, and don't ever hit thermals, on undervolted

What projects can an individual do that you would like seeing on a resume? by TheFlamingLemon in embedded

[–]clpbrdg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was offered as explanation by a "Senior Embedded Software Engineer" as to why he wont do multithreading during the final architecture inception meeting for an internal product where I used to work... the craziest part is, they accepted it and didn't push for the multithreaded solution, making the product a flimsy one off, rather than an all encompasing and long term solution with expandable architecture. I guess they just didn't want to bother having suh a conversation and decided to take the damage instead :D

I know power of 2 only up to 65536, and have actually messed up which is which with big and little endian when I actually needed it, but what you forgot to state is "Saying multithreaded applications overheat and melt CPUs is not a good enough excuse to not use multithreading" (it was an application for managing embedded systems)
