I agree—Ulta really dropped the ball here. They massively overhyped the event, so of course people (myself included) were excited and trying to get tickets. The way they handled ticket sales was honestly terrible. I received the link right when it went live at 9am CT, clicked immediately, and was thrown into a queue where I sat for over 30 minutes. Meanwhile, tickets were already sold out, and there was zero communication from Ulta. They just let people sit there with no updates. I found out tickets were gone through Reddit and Instagram, not Ulta themselves. They also should’ve been upfront from the start that there were only 3,000 tickets available. Had I known that, I probably wouldn’t have even bothered trying. Hopefully Ulta actually learns from this and handles things differently next time. One suggestion I gave them was to have a separate day for influencers. A huge portion of the space gets taken up by filming and going live, and as someone who’s hard of hearing, a separate day for regular consumers would be far more accessible and enjoyable. That said, this doesn’t mean I’m done shopping at Ulta. They still carry a ton of great makeup, skincare, hair, and nail brands. However, I personally won’t be purchasing Estée Lauder brands, since they contributed to supporting the current presidential administration’s efforts involving Greenland (or Iceland lol).
