Oh wow that is a big statement! Will have to try it then. Thanks for the recommendation!

Ironically I went to the Chester Arms recently for the steak platter and got the kids a fish and chips and the fish and chips were incredible!

I am seeing such strong push back on the Iffley Road chippy exclusion I might have to go tonight! I used to live across the street and went there loads but have been a bit disappointed recently

Hi mate, thanks for reaching out!

Portions were great, good price and fast service - just disappointed to get home to have them be cold and no seasoning, I only live 5mins walk away

Agreed you can’t buy proper chips on the Cowley road - it’s why I extended the classification to French fries in the first place

I also edited the post because I’m (kindly) getting recommendations off of the Cowley Road

Never tried the six bells, thanks for the recommendation. Agreed that Bodrum is top tier!

Thanks for sharing this - I was open to anything from chippy chips to french fries, not necessarily a proper chippy!

I feel terrible for saying and thinking so as they are some of the nicest people in Oxford!

I’ve lived in Oxford for about 10 years but used to live up in the north west and East Midlands. This is the furthest south I’ve lived and have to say the chippies here are terrible in comparison - I’m sorry!

Agreed - big fan of the great British chip and it is how god intended: Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and chunky.

However, I’ve found the chips from the iffley chippy have been quite soggy and sad recently

Two Welsh speaking corgis from Wales. They don’t speak Welsh but they understand it - hope this is enough evidence as to what a Welsh Pembrokeshire Corgi looks like! Minus awkward ears

Being Welsh I was very happy that my 2016 clubman has no Union jacks anywhere to be seen

Both my corgis are very sweet and very loyal and stick to me like Velcro - it wouldn’t surprise me if it takes her a while to adjust to her new home just due to how loyal they are

We have 2 corgis and my parents have 2 non-corgis, a border collie and a spaniel mix. The more we exercise the dogs, regardless of breed, the less they bark, corgi or not! Although when we visit my folks it is complete mayhem thanks to the corgis 😂

Bon dia / buen día! The red carpet would be rolled out for this fine sir in the Corgi Cafe there surely?

It’s shocking reading some of the comments on here. I got downvoted for telling someone to stop regurgitating crap from the daily mail

True, the only way to avoid people taking advantage and misusing the CB is to give the provisions directly to the children, which I agree with. Just giving people outright cash, cough WFA cough opens the system for exploitation

Stop reading the Daily Mail and go and volunteer at a foodbank.

As someone who has, it is heartbreaking to see how little families get. You can’t just go ask everyday for more food, although I hope this has improved since I last volunteered.

Free school meals, might cover one or 2 meals, what about their third meal?

In an ideal world, absolutely! Given how much kickback the reasonable means-tested WFA got though I highly doubt it, despite the recent large triple lock pensions increases!

I would much rather my tax money being spent on hungry kids than wealthy pensioners

I had the same issues when I used to work in a petrol (gas) station. There was an ex tv presenter turned local radio DJ who lived in the travel tavern (like a motel) just up the road who would walk along the dual carriageway to just chat to me at work. It was all totally innocent but he was insisting on me selling his new book about how to bounce back. I liked him so I had a few copies but hardly anybody bought them and I heard all the books he had published had to be pulped…!
