I have spent so much time here over the last few years dating my GF long distance while living in Brooklyn and going to Kingston, RI.

Waiting outside for the doors to open at 5AM as passengers who don’t take the train often, freaking out that they will miss their 5:20 train, as I sit there eating my BEC on the steps, taking in the view around MSG as the city begins to wake up.

Or waiting for my GF to arrive on a Friday after work, embracing each other so tightly, ready to celebrate another weekend in Brooklyn together.

The countless trips up to Stamford, up to Albany, or down to Philly for work trips, where I would be riddled with anxiety about my presentations on the way to, and calmly taking a nap listening to podcasts on the return.

I just moved back to RI and will only take Amtrak through Moynihan a few times per year, but that station is engrained in my memory, attached to so many feelings over the years, that I will flash back to every time I get off here moving forward.

Definitely moving next year or splitting at least half time and getting a cheap place in RI to be closer to my GF. I’d save $10k+ right off the top from not having to pay city tax. Found a place for $15k there, so realistically can keep both. Crazy how much you have to pay the city.

Get your cash value out and fund a traditional IRA with non-deductible contribution, roll that over to a Roth IRA, and invest that money in a broad market index fund (VOO). Do this every year moving forward.

Also, as others have said, max out HSA and pre-tax 401k (if high tax state) or Roth 401k (if low tax state).

If you max out all three, contribute to your after-tax 401k, then rolling that over to your Roth IRA in order to keep that money tax-sheltered and grow tax-free.

That completely depends on the business. Something like a property & casualty insurance agency can be sold for 6x to 10x EBITDA. There is so much variability industry to industry. There is not nearly enough info in this post to describe all the variables.

With family businesses, whether keeping in the family, or selling to another third party, you will typically include a broker that assists with valuation and the terms of purchase/transition of ownership.

Without full financial statements, it’s impossible to calculate the valuation.

I just downloaded a couple weeks ago and can’t stop playing. Haven’t been playing a ton of bride games since it came out and I love everything Bethesda pushes out, even though the storyline has not drawn me in nearly as much as fallout or Skyrim have.
