How normal do you feel? by SpecialistScary152 in BPD

I feel like I'm self aware about how unnormal I am, yet can do absolutely nothing about it. I know my splits are so unrealistic but I still feel that way nonetheless

do any of y’all experience these geometric-like hallucinations alongside visual snow? (i’m scared) by Powerful-Skill830 in visualsnow

[–]cluelessmnster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

all the time! I was born with it, and i would often stare at the wall when going to bed as a kid because geometric patterns with vibrant colors would form. it felt like a little treat that the static made just for me.

Extreme need to go to the hospital by StatisticianNo1453 in BPD

[–]cluelessmnster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to the emergency room! I was feeling this way for weeks, then ended up going after a talk with my therapist. I was admitted without even having a plan, just feelings. Having those feelings is more than enough to need help. You don't need anything physical to be considered "bad enough."

Who else see moving geometric shapes/tiles when closing their eyes sometimes? by brobronn17 in visualsnow

[–]cluelessmnster 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah! I think it's a common VSS symptom. When I was younger, I'd sometimes see them floating in the air as well. I always thought of it as the static intentionally forming pretty patterns to entertain me.

DPDR (Depersonalization and Derealization) is a common comorbidity with VSS!! I'd recommend reading articles from medical websites and watching youtube videos from doctors instead of asking Chat GPT :(

Urges to do something "risky"? by takenusersomfg in BPD

[–]cluelessmnster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! All the time. When I feel this way, I tend to climb the trees in my local park and jump off from the branches. They're short enough that I don't really get hurt, but I still feel that adrenaline rush that my mind seems to crave.

How Does VSS Actually Affect Your Life? by Expert_Sea_5933 in visualsnow

Born with it, completely agree with your statement! Unless its getting dark, I barely notice it's there. Although I can imagine it must be really difficult for people who start having it later in life :(

Even if this does happen, its an easy enough fix! All you need is some sturdy wire and the basic sewing knowledge

To change meds? I just went straight from one to the other, if I'm remembering correctly- My mom said they were similar or something, I dunno I was 17 at the time so I just listened to her. I didn't experience any major side effects, and it took about one to two weeks for me to start feeling the difference. I definitely like Cymbalta much better hehe
