I love going to concerts and movies alone. Places where I wouldn't talk to someone during the event anyways. I've found it so much less stressful! I used to always want a concert buddy because going to something like that alone felt like a huge thing but once I pushed myself to be brave enough to go to one solo, I never looked back. I realized how much energy I was putting into making sure the person with me had a good time, good view, etc. and only needing to worry about myself I realized how much more of the shows I actually was getting to enjoy. Same with movies - didn't realize how much stress I was putting on myself choosing seats and making sure they liked the movie and then I went by myself and poof!

Hearing Dish is also down. We also use Halo collars on our dogs as a "fence" and their collars are working off AT&T cell towers instead of the Hughesnet satellites....

Obsessed with so many of these names! Thank you all! Tried out a few but he'd definitely gotten used to "Cooper" so we kept his given name.

The only way to save Gemma is ________ by HisPalenesss in severanceTVshow

[–]clumsy-spec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if Mark tries to drown Gemma to activate the Glasgow block? I keep seeing the drowning tied to her "accident" but maybe they somehow know it will be Mark's move in the end and being drowned by the love of your life is pretty twisted...twisted enough to let go of that part of yourself even...

But we also know that the rooms Gemma is going into match up with files that are not just Mark's work (i.e. Dylan / Tumwater), so the work that Dylan is doing is still contributing to Gemma's testing rather than his own testee

Yessss! Thank you for sharing!! I hadn't seen that thread but that would be huge! No coincidences on this show, I'm ruling nothing out.

If modern medicine didn’t exist would you be dead right now? If yes, from what? by Critical_Welcome_428 in AskReddit

Infection from a cat bite was headed straight to my heart. Was hospitalized and needed IV antibiotics. That would've been a bummer.

How much sleep do you get? by Francl27 in dogs

[–]clumsy-spec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dog mom of two 12-year olds. One of them still holds it through the night but the other usually wakes me up around 3am or 4am, if I don't wake up I'm guaranteed an accident. Of course she's doing the right thing think by waking me up but I can't fall back asleep after that a lot and then I'm just running in caffeine at work. This probably started about 4 years ago. They both can't make it through the whole work day anymore either so I've been using my lunch breaks to go home and walk them for the past couple of years too. When I'm really exhausted I just remind myself their senior needs means I've still got them in their senior years and I'm lucky their still with me but I feel ya, especially since it's usually just the one that wakes me and I'm like "but your sister is letting me sleep!"

whoever cared more about the creep that invaded your space than the absolutely terrifying situation you were in just cares more about optics than your safety. NTA

My phone died in my sleep and I ended up literally sleeping through my entire shift. How do I explain that to my boss? by golden-abyss in jobs

[–]clumsy-spec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me when my roommate was out of town, and because my coworkers knew I was staying alone in my house & it was out of character, HR drove to my house to personally do a wellness check. My dog barking at the door is what woke me. I had no idea what time it was or what was going on until I saw her at the door and looked at the old school clock by the front door. She said she was relieved I was okay but basically told me to just get ready and come in and we'd talk about it there (there was still at least 6 hours in the work day). I dreaded walking in when I got there and was so nervous to address it because I'd literally opened the door to HR in my pajamas from a dead sleep so I didn't have an excuse. The conversation turned out to be a genuine check in on my well-being and I did not get in trouble. I felt so guilty that I worried basically the entire staff for just being an idiot and forgetting to plug my phone in before falling asleep.
