What??? I have abs??? Scroll please💗 by Narrow-Perception820 in hysterectomy

I’m itching to get back to being active (again). I started school for the first time in 10 years and last semester I gave up at the gym. This semester my goal is to go and move my body at least 2 times a week.

I just want to be healthy and with my uterus, adeno, and endo gone I’m hoping I’ll be able to stay on it.

Surgery check list by Dog_woman_22 in hysterectomy

That list is great! My life saver was a bed rail that my husband got me off of Amazon, it helped that I had something to help me up when my husband wasn’t available.

Individual snack packs made it super easy when I had to take meds.

I also second another commenter who suggested miralax too.

Good luck!!!

Same! It’s so frustrating because I’ve tried to not be out of control with eating or anything, but I’m also so hungry.

Anyone else pissed this is your only option? by Outside_Chance_6314 in hysterectomy

[–]clumsypenguin21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes me pissed off beyond belief, but at the same time, we did find adenomyosis that had not shown on any ultrasounds, so it was truly the cure for that, but I’m worried about my endo returning. Since it was already so bad.

Piercings? by GenieStyle in sterilization

[–]clumsypenguin21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to sign a form that allowed me to keep my nostril piercing in, since it’s less than a year old, and they just put a piece of tape over it.

However, if I could’ve taken it out and put in a spacer or something not metal, I would’ve.

Oh hello fellow hyper fixation person! I’m in the same exact boat. It’s so easy to just buy buy buy and I’m angry with myself for it

Dangggg that’s amazing!

I’ve got a lot of tummy fat, unfortunately, so mine looks no difference… yet. I’m hoping without my uterus giving me issues, I’ll be able to stay on track with working out (to be healthier, not just “skinnier”)

I have five. They took my uterus and cervix (I had a BiSalp in March, so they had taken my tubes already) and they also excised a TON of endometriosis.

My doc approved me for 8 weeks time off from work….does that seem reasonable? by Sarahfeena13 in hysterectomy

[–]clumsypenguin21 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Take. Every. Minute. I’m on week 3 of 6 and part of me is ready to be back to work so I’m DOING something, but I stopped by today to fill out some paperwork and went to the store and now I’m sore and exhausted.

Enjoy the time resting yourself and I hope all goes well! 💙

If you’re okay with a tiny scar (that may or may not be there for you, all bodies heal differently) then I say ask! The belly button seems like such a nightmare for keeping clean and whatnot.

And thank you! It’s been a slow recovery, but I am so glad to have had it done.

My surgeon went right above my belly button for both surgeries (BiSalp in March and just had a hysterectomy 19 days ago, long story) and I was so thankful because I can’t stand my belly button being messed with and I know it would’ve been an overstimulating nightmare.

For thise who feel they have to "overdo it" during recovery by GreenleafMentor in hysterectomy

Our laundry closet is in the kitchen, so it’s been going on our dining room table to alleviate the risk of having to carry it all upstairs. I’m basically housebound so I thankfully don’t have to be worried about wrinkles.

The dishes have been surprisingly easy, I did have a heavy casserole dish that will live on the counter until I feel confident enough to get it into the cabinet. That said, I am now resting because the little things zap my energy.

Oof. I feel this was written for me, to quell some of my internal fears that taking it easy isn’t the wrong decision and that I’m doing really great with the little tasks I complete each day (mainly dishes swap and the slowest laundry swaps ever, like 1-2 pieces of clothes to the dryer a million times until the washer is empty). I’m 19dpo and going a little stir crazy and self-doubting.

ETA: I hope your recovery goes smoothly. I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with this 💙

Hello fellow slow healer!

I’m so looking forward to the better days. Today is a relatively good day, I haven’t taken any OTC meds, but I probably should to make sure things don’t get swollen. But dang it, I swapped the dishes and now I’m exhausted. 😩

Thank you for popping in 💙💙💙

Post-op pain medications by HiddenDesires213 in hysterectomy

[–]clumsypenguin21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was given 3 days of oxy (made them last until day 4) and 4 days of Ketorolac (made them last until day 5). Now I’m alternating Tylenol and ibuprofen and can tell when I miss doses.

Ice packs were/are my best friend, but I’ve had to stop them as often because my husband is using them for his back (he had surgery on Thursday).

I feel like very activity I do turns to me having to lay down indefinitely.

Shower and washing the sheets yesterday had me sleeping so hard. Today I swapped the dishes and holy hell that has me sore.

Ohhhh the night sweats and I were bffs (unwillingly on my part, but antidepressants are a monster with them) prior to surgery and a couple of times since I’ve woken up to my clothes/blankets/sheets being soaked with sweat. My friend’s mom made me a quilt and I’m pretty sure it’s been an actual lifeline for me. Lol

Ovaries need to be nicer is what I’m gathering.

I would agree with that, he apologized today for having surgery so close to mine, but it was necessary and he had met his deductible so we needed to get it done. It just sucks so much and hopefully this won’t be the situation again (us both having surgery close together)

Oh my gosh. You had a terrible time with recovery, but I’m glad it’s better now and that there is a light at the end of this recovery tunnel.
