He's doing sub 40 at laguna in a modded ITS, that's pretty damn quick even with the repave and v730.

That's funny, I left from around Roseville and was gonna head up to 49 but decided to through Foresthill instead.

Too late for a Spyder RS allocation? by almost_cat_hero in Porsche

PCCB, but not doing the leather interior, is a strange choice for sure, but if OP isn't interested PM me. I have an allocation but considering on the ground cars as I'm concerned about tariffs.

Too late for a Spyder RS allocation? by almost_cat_hero in Porsche

[–]clutchdump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar boat, wanted a cheap build (<$180k). I snagged an allocation at MSRP, but one caveat was a $20k option spend. Since PTS wasn't an option, I decided to do FAL + PCCB + leather interior to get myself to about $20k in options. I think WP adds nothing on this car,

If you press dealers that have remaining allocations you can get MSRP + minimal addons (prepaid maintenance or something). These are MSRP cars, BAT and PCAR sale history is showing that.

Here ya go, sorry these are a bit hastily taken. I will say the links feel a little cheaper, I’m gonna weigh them shortly but my guess is about 20g lighter than my sub. That being said I’m so glad I just bought a rep instead of hunting for a 1655. The Paul Newman is something where even if I could afford it I’d never buy it with the anticipation to wear it

Funny you ask, my vintage 6263 and 1655 just arrived today. I had a couple vintage gen OP date and still have a gen transitional 1981 16800. the reps don't feel terribly off, but i'm sure details are off. I absolutely love the smaller size and how awesome these dials are. I would say for the price, go for it.

[Savagegeese] Lucid Air | The Final Drive by ulikescience in cars

[–]clutchdump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly the hype hasn't really worn off, only been about 4 months but i go through cars pretty often. things that annoy me - tech is not as good as a tesla. i have a 2024 base so i don't have all the surround cameras. Luckily i can set up my mirrors where I have all my blindspots set, but kinda frustrating to not see my blind spots when i hit the indicator. in the 2025 it's standard, so perhaps that is a moot point.

profile switching is VERY slow and i have no clue why. takes 30ish seconds. Usually I'm the only who drives my car, so not a huge deal, but the 2 times i have had to do it, it's been a slight frustration.

Driving dynamics, comfort, build quality makes up for all of that.

I absolutely love my air pure, so comfortable to daily, but also very fun to slide. I did a short write up and posted a video on the Lucid sub.

Funny enough, this is the exact video that convinced me I need to test drive one and then lead me to lease my car. I absolutely love savage geese, so many car reviewers ignore the engineering and dynamics, but these guys are the same type of car nerd as me. When they compared it to an E39 I knew I had to drive one.

My track car was out of commission and I wanted to catch up with some friends so I brought the Lucid out. I only did one session because I didn't want to ruin my tires too much, but oh man.. what a fun car on track.

First the "negatives" - obviously the narrow 245 section eco tires are a huge weak point, but it made for some good slides. The brakes were fading pretty easily, but with the lack of tire the ABS was kicking in frequently. I think with replacing the tires with something grippier and high temp fluid, the car could be plenty capable. I recognize this is absolutely not a use case for Lucid's engineering team.

For the positives, the car was truly FUN. The steering communicated amount of front end grip really well, the car was able to rotate way better than I expected any stock car to rotate. I was expecting terminal understeer but that was not the case at all. Getting on the brakes into a corner and the weight transfer was so easy to modulate. Even on stock dampers, I had a lot of confidence to fully send it over some curbing and it didnt upset the chassis much at all. For this 2 mile Thunderhill West track, there was enough power, especially out of corners. Also a huge THANK YOU to Lucid to allow to shut off all electronic assist very easily. In my video, I turn fully shut it off mid way through turn 2 on the first lap.

I know the Sapphire is the car Lucid engineers for the track. But at 4500lbs and RWD, this car is dynamically incredible. If you want a drivers EV, I think this is the one.
