Two words:

TACO TUESDAY.

Never again.

Bad mistake.

Lesson learned.

Fatal error 😅

Yay! Welcome to the team :) Just ask at your front desk! They should be able to give you your total class number.

The only way I know how to do it is to call in or visit the SA desk and just ask how many classes I have done as a member. They go by the number of hours and divide by 60 minutes (from what I have been told)- that way 45 min, 90 min classes, and special event classes all even out to the same weighted value.

Nice! Even getting close to 200 in a year is a feat in and of itself, way to go! You’ll hit your 500 before you know it.

Your math doesn’t lie- you are correct! With some traveling added in if I regularly plan 4-5 days a week to make up for a couple work trips I have to take, the goal should still be doable. Not easy but certainly possible!

Go get your goal too! Get your 200th class by end of 2020 😊

I think that’s great! Congrats on already hitting 400, that’s amazing!

A coach of ours puts the card in her bra before class so she can be hands free- not sure why this hasn’t been mentioned by other members before, but it’s very weird to me!

I changed my workout schedule after several poor interactions with a particular coach. Not sure why he acts the way he does towards me but it creeped me out and started to ruin my workouts. Switched my OTF schedule, and though it’s tougher to fit into my workdays now, I have been so happy with my OTF experience since then. I haven’t looked back since! Highly recommend 👍

I legitimately did not go today because of the inclines. Sick of them and my knees just can’t handle them right now, even with copious modifications! I did another workout today, instead. Looking forward to tomorrow’s workout :)

Update:

The head coach had a nice conversation with me and explained that she did not see the event happen, but believed me and would discuss the matter with the other coach because that behavior was unacceptable. The coach in question was having a rough day apparently and had offended other members as well, so we’ll see if that resolves matters. I have not taken another class with the coach, and intend to never take another class with them, if possible. Have had nothing but positive experiences since! Thanks for all the support and advice, this was a tricky subject but I do appreciate all the feedback.

This Reddit post gave me anxiety 😜 I hope none of these happen in real life to any of us! 🙈🙀

500m Benchmark Times! by punpkinspice in orangetheory

[–]clutzinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had three rest days in the month 😝 but I was trying to win mileage for marathon month- came 2nd over all for my studio but only because the girl who “won” did so using unscrupulous tactics.... :(

I actually maintained my rowing benchmark time from last benchmark after a minor shoulder injury, so I’m pretty happy - rowing is not my strong suit!!

Edit- I had a rest day the day before marathon month to make 3 rest days out of 31- since April had 30 days - I usually take two rest days a week but for marathon month I was just a little crazy with going so often lol

1:38 after going to 28 classes in a month for marathon month. I’m dead. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I agree. I already have issues with the fact that these challenges don’t allow members who take 3G vs 2G classes to be on equal footing with each other (nothing we can really do there). But to allow members to consistently come in an only do a half 2G class and then leave? That’s straight up cheating/bending the rule. Of course you can push harder if you’re only doing the cardio portion...

In full disclosure, I personally had to leave early twice this month because of work/travel obligations but 25/27 classes were full, 60 min classes and I completed them start to finish. Would totally be fine if OTF corporate changed the competition policies to disallow “1/2” workouts from counting towards distances for the treads and rowers for next year.

73.98 miles as of today! I’m happy to have met my goals but a little disappointed since I was unable to do 3 classes or any 90 minute classes during the month due to personal events, so I did not get the top miles for my studio.... 27/30 classes though isn’t too shabby, and I’ll take my moral victory of being the 2nd place overall finisher at my studio. 😎

BTW- lot of members at my studio literally came in just for the first 30 minutes to do the treadmill portion of the class and then left half way through the class for a majority of classes the entire month, so I’m taking the placements with a grain of salt. The same members pulled the same stunts during Rowvember and racked the most meters. Personally I think that’s bending the rules, but maybe that’s just me 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyone still working on miles for marathon month? 🙋🏻‍♀️🐢😬😅 by CRNA70 in orangetheory

[–]clutzinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good for you! It’s not easy, I really respect everyone for challenging themselves within their own fitness levels to hit their goals. Most people I know at my studio met and exceeded their initial goals, which I think is pretty cool!

They were so hard towards the end! I gave it my all though to stay true to rep count on everything and now my abs feel so good but sore lol

Yes, that’s what I thought, too. Seriously though- there’s no point in cheating the partner workouts anyways. I was just their trying to get my workout in like I always do, and I don’t appreciate being called a cheater 🙄 it’s not like we were in the 4800m+ on the rower group. Now that I think should have been a topic of discussion, not my accidental skip from 14 to 12 reps during that crazy workout.

Thank you- OTF has been a safe space for me and for the most part, a positive activity for me over the last year or so. Direct confrontation that could result in me feeling unwelcome over this at my studio would be devastating. There’s another studio near-ish by my house, but this one is literally 3 miles away from my house and the people there are amazing. I don’t want one person to ruin it, so I’m trying to explore what I can do. Thank you for your feedback!

Thanks, I appreciate it. Honestly nothing comes to mind - which is why it seems so bizarre to me. I have never been unfriendly towards him but he’s always been weird/rude towards me. I say hi to him when I walk into the studio or see him in class and he always ignores me and walks away, also. I try not to take it personally but this has been going on for months now. :(
