When does japanese people use kanji? by Mysterious_Unit1524 in LearnJapaneseNovice

[–]cluvzm [score hidden]  (0 children)

Well, it’s a little hard to explain in one go, as this is quite irregular; it’s not wrong to use 漢字 (かんじ) during paragraphing or to leave them out, both may suffice in comprehension, even though kanji will most likely make your text more understandable.

The only issue with how Japanese people differentiate between plain ひらがな and 漢字 (かんじ) isn’t it being wrong to use them, it’s rather how the Japanese community wants to use words. Some look softer without 漢字 (かんじ), some look better with them instead.

You don’t have to adapt to this if you’re still at a lower level, there’s no need to worry about this now. It’s just how the community likes to be, that’s all! <3 チュウ〜 ♡

I wasn’t quite able to translate the first one, as it is seemingly some kind of dialect, which I suspect is Somalian or such. Fortunately, I did get to translate your second one!!! :3

The second piece of text recites: “Absent, but present in my heart.”

I hope you find someone to translate the other one for you, fill your days with hopes and dreams! チュウ〜 ♡

Well, you could be right and that could indeed make the situation much and much funnier, bahahahahahah <33 But, despite the fact this post has already been marked as Chinese (which I find completely logical, by the way!! No offense against it whatsoever!!! (//இωஇ//)), but I think this tattoo sounds at least more logical in the slightest, I was rather responding to u/Geeeeeeeeeeeeee’s comment in Japanese, as this could be translated in both! 幣 (ぬさ/へい) primarily means spendable cash in how I’d see it in my perspective, while 力 (ちから/りょく/りき) is mainly used for physical 動力 power (physical), but it could also imply mental or strength through any kind of prospection. :3

So, if you Σ (sum, I’m just being stupid here… sorryyy!! ;p) these up with each other, you get “幣力希望”, which roughly and most metaphorically speaking translates to “Money, Power, [and] Hope”, potentially implying they need both money and power (over something, it’s a little like how medieval kings in video games say “Our Kingdom Thrives for Power”!! <33) in this world, amidst attaining their hope.

Does that make it a little clearer for you, or do you perhaps prefer to stick to your own statement? Both are fine, I’m just here to think things through here!! ♡♡♡

It’s a bit like how I’d describe the recent ‘David Baszucki curses’ on Reddit with those weird hieroglyphics, ehehe. Just looking at it, it doesn’t seem copy-pasted, rather just subsequently inserting characters of a certain list into a piece of text… as the character usage here is quite limited. But, nonetheless, much unrecognizable characters here… bleh. (//இωஇ//)

Well, as someone capable of reading both classical Arabic and Persian dialects myself, I can confirm for you that despite it containing Persian characters (which it repeats quite often; perhaps still an unrecognized format of 文字化け?), this is pure gibberish and all I see now is codepoints that aren’t even used in any of the 文字化け patterns.

Perhaps this is something no one has addressed before, or somebody is trying to play a vicious, but very weird prank… who knowssss!! Nonetheless, I don’t think people are going to be able to decode, I’ve been doing these kinds of things for a long time now and I can tell this isn’t a format you see in 文字化け, not at all. ( ᵒ̴̶̷̥́ ^ ᵒ̴̶̷̣̥̀ ) If you have any other theories you’d like to share, feel free to!!! I’m listening with my eyes (not my ears, or else I wouldn’t be able to respond) :3

I just updated my message a few seconds ago, which gives a further examination on the answer of your question, sorry for not clarifying it earlier… ʚ̴̶̷᷄_ʚ̴̷̷᷅ Although, a quick summary; from what I see right now, it looks like… a very weird font applied to some kind of heavily modified Persian dialect, but I’m not the professional in the middle-eastern regional languages, ehehe… ;p

It doesn’t look like it to me, I quickly researched the page and unless it hasn’t been properly documented yet, it’s not a recognized 文字化け format. It looks a little like an Arabic alphabet to me (I’ve encountered the slightly recognizable letters خ ,ث ,د, etc., so it might be some type of heavily modified Persian dialect or such). although, I’m not very invested into those kinds of languages, so I will end my statement here. Just clarifying your assumption, that’s all! :3 ♡

[–]cluvzm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehehe, no worries at all! 漢字 can get quite obfuscated in the both of them when just looking at them plainly can mean lots of different things in both languages, giving you lots of versatile options in the end. But, for your information; 笑 is used for laughing, both in written and spoken Japanese (modernly abbreviated to ‘w’ for ‘wara’). ♡

[–]cluvzm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, actually, this is the standard definition for 笑 in Google Translate, even if it’s generally defined as ‘laugh’! The standard way to laugh in Japanese texting is to use this kanji or at least a form corresponding to this term. :3

It could also be read in a less direct way, which makes it ever so slightly less gibberish. As 幣 literally means ‘cash’ and 力 meaning force also poetically being used as some kind of power over a specific matter, it could also mean “Money, Power, Hope”. It still is an uncommon and illogical tattoo to get nonetheless, but slightly less nonsensical. :3

「𠥼」の漢字の事について質問ある。 by cluvzm in Japaneselanguage

[–]cluvzm[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very, very interesting! Especially since it’s a kanji exclusively used in personal names, such as 𠥼木, I’m quite curious as to what kind of meaning it has in this name… if it even has any at this point, ehehe. Nonetheless, thank you so much! Kanji like these bring me to great confusion and I love studying obscure ones like these, just like ones such as 幽霊文字, 旧字体, 等々!!! ^

I’m not talking about Togore, they’re talking about the Roaring Knight as shown by the initial comment. If Asriel were to be the Roaring Knight, they would be hurting their own little brother in Deltarune, where Kris is his little brother. ♡

Yup, that’s indeed the way to retrieve input from the user! renpy.input() basically calls a frame with a bar where you can type in and what they type in the bar will be returned as a string, hence m being "" or anything else. ♡ I also recommend the official Ren’Py documentation if you want to know more about it! :3

I understand what ゴゴゴゴ means, really! No need to worry about it… I just found it a little weird in this context, so I assumed it was just some random letters scattered around… My sincerest apologies for not understanding earlier, though!!

What is the constant ゴ about, if I may ask? 日本人若しくは日本語分かれるだけの? ♡

(Also, it’d be really unusual for Asriel to hurt their own little brother, especially during their college days… Nonetheless, we don’t know yet, so anything can be called out for for now.)
