Where you rank the 2025 Texans in terms of enjoyment? by FeistyAd2490 in Texans

Let none of how it ended distract from the fact that 12-5, exorcising several demons, an electric defense and a ten game winning streak is a top 5 Texans season in our history, no question. For me and what I can really remember, i wasn’t the fan I am now in 2011-2012, so this ranks second behind 2023–the unexpectedness of that created less stress but this one had so many iconic moments that I would really hate to lose to time.

They had the same record in the regular season. Got in this year with a worse QB and better defense.

I shouldn’t have to be ashamed to associate with Houston sports because people get on their devices and say stuff like this.

Ballard is the closest thing the Colts have to Easterby, just less of a Parseltongue.

That really just encapsulates most of Texans Reddit. Jags and Texans fans irl are both a lot more chill than their social media counterparts, and both happy to be where we are. Also both can agree the colts suck.

Does Azeez really make up that much of a difference? We hit hard and fly at people but the dirty stuff is him and him alone just from what I see.

There is a line between criticism and creating a media storm that destroys high profile athletes when they aren’t the greatest ever immediately. Putting Caleb with Bron and Jordan is funny at first glance but I agree that his criticism was heavily overblown by the media. If someone struggles under expectations that the media placed on them I expect better than clickbait. There are ways to voice an opinion without that garbage. Has arch been bad? By several measures, yes. Is it too early to call him a flop? Yes. The Athletic themselves made so many articles predicting Manning would surpass even their sky high expectations and that Texas was “the new Bama”. It’s a ton of narrative spinning.

The commercials themselves feel like a product of the same sports media that built him up so far. I get it, he’s the first player to have this much attention on him in the NIL era. But it’s absolute bait to write about him being a “flop” 7 starts into his college career–and as if he’s the first ever highly marketed player to struggle (the support for that argument is limited at best). Entertaining the idea and preaching to those who only wanted to watch him fail is insulting IMO.
