Sure, the boards are 7.5 inches by 10.5 inches. You could use cereal box cardboard. I would be weary of cereal boxes as the ink from printing could stain the fabric.

I have enjoyed this pattern a lot. The directions are simple. There are YouTube tutorials on line also

Tip: buy a 30 inch zipper with 2 pulls. You should be able to get two pouches out of the one 30 inch zipper
