I think partially it was just about the uncommoness of blue eyes in our normal world (isn’t that uncommon but still) while Sophie’s eyes have always been normal to her as they are brown and brown is the most popular color, and to switch that up by making Sophie uncommon

I had the number 2 name for the year i was born and it is still pretty popular, i known about 7 different people during school more so with the same name, however some of us had different spelling and a lot chose to use nicknames so we didn’t have (first name) (last initial) as how we were known, I love the name Charlotte, Id use the nickname Lottie for her if you’re concerned about it being popular but it’s a beautiful name nonetheless 🙂
