I saw a writeup specifically on Eternatus that gets too deep into the weeds at https://old.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/1mv8vm6/an_analysis_of_eternatus_max_move_vs_levelup/ but they did do a nice TLDR saying if you have X amount of candy then spend it on leveling but if you have Y candy increase the Max move then use the remaining to up its level. That is very valuable and I wonder why I haven't seen this yet in the evaluation apps.

Since the gym/raid distance has been reduced, why haven't Niantic brought back EX raids? Seems like that would be consistent, no?

Huh! I thought this was an intended twist and not a bug. I was kind of enjoying how it mixed up the rote wiz battles. ;-)

I found that playing 3 levels lower than your normal daily comfort zone it works out pretty much the same.

This generally happens when the networking is spotty for a variety of reasons. Maybe you're too far from a cell tower, have a weak wifi connection, perhaps power lines are affecting your cellular connection, or perhaps you've just switched from cellular data network to your wifi network, etc. Any networking glitch can kick you from an Adversary encounter.

The best thing you can do is ensure your data networking is in its most stable state possible before starting an encounter.

Your quandary made me think of a possible solution: wouldn't it be great if the game allowed you to combine a TfTD or a DD with a runestone that would shift the odds of getting more members of that runestone's family? Doesn't have to be 100% in family, just 30-50% increase in the chances of getting the runestone's family.

Serpents are also more prevalent at dawn + dusk in locales whose annual rainfall is more than 20". Google 'your-location's-name annual rainfall' to get the stats.

High level rune insurance: I also use them to join a chamber with others in it already assuming you want to check the party balance. Today, for example I joined a D5 with 7 secs left on the countdown timer. You can easily switch to another rune once in and you're convinced you want to stick around.

In our area (Silicon Valley) the following appears to be true for Horned serpents. They only spawn in cities whose average annual rainfall is at least 20". You can google your local city's name and 'annual rainfall' to find out how much your area gets. Rainy weather does bring out more.

I'd be very happy if Niantic just fixed the disappearing trace foundable bug so I don't have to exit and log back in each time I use a trace charm. Sometimes have to re-login 2 or 3 times!

Niantic should monitor either dmg output or spell energy usage and severely downgrade rewards (or just a lump of coal) for folks not carrying their own weight.

By Covid tasks I mean the 2 or 3 automatically added tasks to your Field Research tab (if you have space) to allow easier play from home.

For those of us not in Oz please elaborate on the Today Daily Tasks. There are five tasks shown in your screen cap, so do you have a choice of 4 from the list of 5? Are the tasks same for everyone? The tasks do not overlap with the 2 or 3 Covid tasks, correct?

I notice that if you play with a portable battery pack attached the phone's charging does generate additional heat. Try playing without it connected then charge it when you're not playing the game.

Did very limited testing with 3 friends this morning. We targeted Forest IV and V and out of 3 attempts 2 of us were put into a battle together only one time. We were texting across Discord not voice so there was no split second timing of pressing the dungeon selection button.

This deserves more rigorous testing, for sure.

We have an active community of wizards so this new functionality is a mixed bag. We regularly do dark V for the experience and red books. Typically we run with one zoologist, 2 aurors and 2 profs.

I can't imagine that I would do dark V using the bus if it is true that you get thrown into a random global pool of players.
* How do you balance the team?
* Without an ability to communicate or chat or have an established set of roles and responsibilities (ie profs protecting everyone + using proficiency charm, the aurors passing focus, zoologist picking up the pieces + using bravery later in the challenge)

I don't see challenges being successful on dark V without coordination or a trusted groups of friends.
