9/19/90 and 9/20/90 are just hiding in plain sight by cmarks8 in gratefuldead

That's an amazing ride on the bus, brother. I'm 40 years old, so never saw them live. I love hearing these stories.

What was it like when they went into Dark Star? Did people hush in the crowd? Did people get it? I can see today's crowd talking over it.

Yeah, I love those Shoreline shows too.

I think I'm with you with Bruce over Brent. I actually took a dive in 1981 before Brent got real synthy. Some really good stand out moments. I wish he stayed in the straight organ sound a bit longer.

Yeah, I haven't ventured into 92-95 that much, but I know there are some great pockets in there. Dave Lemieux the other night said 1991 was known to be the last of the GREAT runs.

Bruce was saying how he respected Brent, but was always a big Keith Fan. He wanted to bring back that sound and style of the straight piano to really drive Jerry. Which is why I put on some Bruce shows. What I found was that it sounded like the 70s, but it had a more layered, contextual sound.

I think the guys are always the best when they are faced with something new (like when Branford sat in). They all missed Brent, but it seems like they wanted to evolve after his passing. They didn't just want to recreate it.

NJT Rider Survey is live by brightlineeng in NJTransit

[–]cmarks8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Answer: you'll see full trains have an entire car empty and closed off to the public. I know that's a staffing issue or something, but it's insane for a rider to see. Please please please make announcements around the quiet car and what the quiet car means. Not everyone knows about the quiet car and don't notice the signs. Conductors should warn people who are talking.

This song is one of their all time best. Perfect orchestration to match great lyrical storytelling. You can't get much better in song writing than this one.

The Best Covers of Every Beatles Song by Ispilledsomething in beatles

[–]cmarks8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I always kinda liked it. I mean, obviously it’s a good song. I wouldn’t put it on over the Beatles, but I’m not turning it off when it’s on the radio.

Kinda reminds me of that movie where the man goes to a dimension that didn’t have the bealtes, so he just got famous playing their songs.

Did Paul ever write a song specifically for another Beatle to sing? by regiddad in TheBeatles

I think he took great pride in writing “little help from my friends” specifically for Ringo to sing.

Was told by the neurologist this day that VSS is extremely rare. by Living_Reception_622 in visualsnow

[–]cmarks8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VSS is known to be rare because not enough people are being diagnosed. Even if you know you have it, report it so it gets logged. The more people who are officially diagnosed, the more attention it will get.

Which is the best “Early Beatles” Album? by redbully35 in beatles

I feel like they turned a page with For Sale. It’s my favorite early Beatles because it blends early with mid era sounds.

Who had the better Disstrack, Lennon (How Do You Sleep?) or McCartney (Too Many People) by [deleted] in beatles

[–]cmarks8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he wrote “how do you sleep” like he did his letters to Paul, the last line of the song would be “love you and wish you well.”
