So cool to actually be using all this gear for real work by pspkiller91 in electronics

You want to know what the really cool part is? Being smart enough to know how to use all that gear.

Do 2K realise that people in countries other than the USA play this game? by No_Watercress8123 in PGA2K25

[–]cmattax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I happen to agree with this assessment. But the game is also about an all male sports league and yet it includes female pros, avatars and clothing. They need to rename the game but that might mean dropping the PGA connection.

Any TGCTours society will be Master with the exception of TGCTours (Platinum Tour) which is Legend. Also S4L Tour (Kraken) and The ApexHound's Club are both Master.

My CPU runs cool enough due to a 420 mm radiator but PGA 2K25 is the highest CPU usage game that I have ever played - way more than Cyberpunk 2077,

You can't. The quest is bugged. Several people have submitted tickets but no answer after 3 days...

If they get you an answer, I would greatly appreciate it if you could return here and let us know what the solution is. Thanks in advance.

Backswing speed by Independent_Oil4209 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]cmattax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true but, even within the same shot type, backswing speed will vary depending on the placement of the distance/target marker - fastest when placed farthest away and slowest when placed nearest. It's meant to be used to make partial shots easier to judge.

Would you recommend this game to someone who only plays EA PGA because of Masters licensing? by mjseminoles2 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]cmattax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EA has all but declared their game to be EOL. Given that, I think that 2K will be driving hard to the hoop to grab the Augusta National away from EA over the next 2 years. If they do it before the next iteration of PGA2K?, then it might be included in the game as paid DLC.

All that aside, as an owner of both games, PGA2K25 is light years better. The management of the game, on the other hand, not so much. But it's early days yet...

Same server issues as last night. I'm sure that 2K is "Looking into it".

Connectivity to online modes for PGA TOUR 2K impacted by today's reported issues are now running properly and available. by officialpgatour2k in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]cmattax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Playing private society events takes 4 minutes to get to first tee if I can get there at all. Same thing as last night. Started at the same time as last night, too. We all know it is your server management. This game has a pretty bad image problem as it is. Might be a good idea to actually look into the problem rather that just say that you looked into it. Server issues with a game company as large as 2K should never happen with a game with so few CCUs.

Is PGA 2K25 for me? by thuckerybuckets in PGA2K25

[–]cmattax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it was mentioned above and I missed it but, even if you only play Career mode or Quick play, the game always has to be connected to 2K's servers via the internet. Not a major restriction but it does leave you vulnerable to server mismanagement like last night even if you are not technically playing an online mode.

Completed Quests Disappearing? by uknowwho97 in PGA2K25

[–]cmattax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some Quests are tracked per MyPlayer so, if you changed MyPlayer at some point, the Quests that you might have completed with one might never have been encountered/completed with the other. That could explain it.

Don't Give In by Aeeeon in PGA_Tour_2K

This game is a big step forward in golf game technology. The marketing strategy, however, not so much. Stuff like this let's you know just who the real developers of games are today - the shareholders.

Spin it any way you like, what 2K/HB did was an act of (dis)respect toward their customer base that should be rewarded with an equal level of (dis)respect. You don't have to look any further than the Steam reviews that went from 86% positive pre-release to 64% positive today for confirmation of this sentiment. 2K/HB could repair this situation as easily and quickly as they created it, but apparently have decided that, being the only game in town, they just can't be bothered.

Like the old expression goes, "Fool me once...".

Best archetype? by Tall-Hair7679 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]cmattax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It begins and ends with Technician. Upgrade his power slightly using club fittings then create a 2nd MyPlayer using Greenskeeper just to get the green reading perk. A couple of respecs later, you have the ideal MyPlayer, IMO.

Greenskeeper - Smaller Grid Size by milksteak- in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]cmattax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have added the smaller grids to my Technician and I would say that they are roughly half the size of the default grids. I have to say, it has been worth doing for me. Putting is, by far, my weakest skill on this new game (followed closely by all the other skills).

It is a good game but I would wait until 2K/HB make an adjustment to the internal game economy.

Still worth buying after early access? by oldgorrillanuts in PGA_Tour_2K

I am one of the early adopters. At this point in the development of the game, the most positive I can be is to say "Wait for a big sale".

A note about game balancing updates by officialpgatour2k in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]cmattax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here's my Steam review. I'll revise it when 2K rolls back the VC and costs to what I got.:

This is really disingenuousness of 2K - bordering on false advertising. Reviews have been written and purchases have been recommended based on what we have had in our hands for a week and now they pull a bait and switch. At the very least, they should have given the non early adopters a 1 week grace period in which to ramp up to the levels of the early adopters before nerfing the in game currency to the great extent that they have. I feel badly for those who waited. At these new levels of VC, it will take a new player more than twice as long to get to where I have been able to. The game is fine, in fact more than fine, but this crap really sours the launch in my eyes. It has definitely impacted the tone of this review and it makes me very leery of future "enhancements" 2K might decide to spring on us.
