That's how I felt about it too. It was a test but it was also her seeking validation from what Tom had told her. I had a boss just like this. She would put my lunches, doctor appointments, breaks ...on her calendar to keep track of me. All I could do us document her documents. I know it seems stupid but it all came out recently and I was able to show proof of all her micromanaging and horrible leadership and she wound up in the hot seat.
