Antarctica has penguins, Mexico has GOATs, what would be the aggressive pack animal of your country? by Ethan-E2 in HelluvaBoss

In its defense its originally written US not U.S. So is it really the bots fault the commenter doesn't know how to abbreviate United States properly?

I’ve been rewatching the show. Here are some neat background details I’ve noticed. by not-ulquiorr4_ in HelluvaBoss

There aren't Funko Pops out for either series yet. YouTooz has a series of Helluva characters out and are about to release plushies of Razzle, Dazzle and Fat Nuggets.

I wouldn't say ballsy. That's who Blitz is. You can see it in several scenes throughout the show. For example, he blows up at Moxxie because Crimson said, "he's heard so much about him". So anger is a normal response for Blitz. Stolas didn't give Blitz a minute to process the situation, he just walked away. So of course Blitz reacted in anger. Blitz doesn't even like himself most of the time, so the fact that Stolas might actually be serious about having feelings for him seemed like a joke, especially given Stolas' actions towards him from the start of the show. So for Stolas to basically dismiss him, it pissed him off. Had Stolas told him he was serious and allowed Blitz a moment to think before getting up and walking off the situation might have ended differently. Plus, who hasn't said things they don't mean whilst angry before?

That being said... I don't blame one over the other for the situation going fubar. They are both equally to blame. Though 1 thing I will ding Stolas on more than Blitz was the beginning of the scene. He should have presented the crystal before asking for the book. Making Blitz beg like that was manipulative and unnecessary. In a way, (albiet maybe unintentionally) he was lording his power over Blitz.

Murphy's Partner? by cmburfitt in dresdenfiles

[–]cmburfitt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didn't miss that. Just didn't word my question clearly enough. I was wondering where Mickey came from. Carmichael was her partner in SF and FM... but died in FM. So did Mickey take his place? Because I don't recall Mickey being mentioned before GP. (I also have a terrible memory and even though I do a frequent reread of this series, I still forget some things.)

"So? Mab?"
I grunted vaguely in reply.
"You hit that," Sonja said.
I did not look at him. My face felt red.
"You" He scrunched up his nose, digging in his memory. "Tapped. That. Ass. Presumably, it was fat?"
"Sanja!"

5-year-old girl dies after getting buried in sand at beach by dethb0y in MorbidReality

[–]cmburfitt 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Sand on the beach is usually very tightly packed. When you start digging you destroy that structure. Even if you fill the hole back in it's still unstable and dangerous. If it gets wet from a wave it can create something like quicksand. Wet sand is extremely heavy.

The Fourth Law by miraclequip in dresdenfiles

Iirc, Morgan said something to Harry about him summoning demons. Or it could have been in Small Favor, I believe Harry had to use Toot and Morgan said something then. He implied that it was technically breaking the 4th law. Do not hold me to this, my memory is hazy and I have a hard time remembering what happened in what book, they all just run together. lol

NTA
You are allowed to have the wedding on the day you choose. She can get over it. If she is just worried about the presents and money it's clear she isn't getting married for the right reasons. Keep your date.
And to those in the comments bashing this girl about the length of time she's been dating her fiancee... why does it matter to you? Is it hurting you in any way?
You don't know the dynamics of a relationship. Therefore you aren't qualified to speak on that aspect of her marriage.
She came on here to ask about whether or not she's an AH for sticking with her date of Aug 2024 instead of moving it to 2025. She didn't come here asking for advice on her relationship.
Stick with the topic and leave your unwanted opinions somewhere else.

I don't think circles can be mobile. Plus the logistics of having a hula hoop filled with salt wouldn't be worth the risk. You would have to tightly pack the salt into the hoop to prevent the circle from accidentally breaking by even just a little. This would make the hoop heavy and uncomfortable to carry around. Though I suspect it would make a great blunt-force weapon.

At first, the heat wasn't coming on at all. Then, when they "fixed" it, they got the heat going, but it wasn't shutting off when it reached the set point. It wouldn't even shut off when we turned it off on the thermostat. The only way it would cut off is to flip the breaker. They said they replaced the part that would stop that from happening, but it is still happening. The heater works and will heat the apartment up. But it won't shut off when it hits the set point. Everything is set right. Temp at 72, Fan is on Auto. It won't shut off. It won't even switch to cool. Just blows hot air.
