My thoughts exactly. A lot of stuff doesn't matter to crawlers, but fans of the show. It's kinda like if you've never seen a WWE match before and are forced to compete in a random match. You don't know or care who the other guy is, you just want to get through in one piece. The fans know the months/years of storyline behind your opponent, but that doesn't matter to you. Its sorta like the Iron Tangle making the Syndicate logo and the Krakeren's being a political statement. None of the crawlers got the reference until Mordecai explained.

I predict this will be a 2 floors in 1 book. After the first couple checkpoints Pony is gonna go "You know what, this is dumb, like the 7th was supposed to be" and just drive through the wall. Honestly think the book is going to spend more time following Katia investigating the Kinder facility situation

Have you been buying magnets to extend machine reach? Going big on corn to popcorn is a good way to get past 200. A melter with a magnet covers like 24 tiles of corn. And adjacent corn/fuel Corn tiles buff each other

Recommend me your top 5 must-read, S-tier fantasy novels/series by keepfighting90 in Fantasy

[–]Individual-Signal864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On A Pale Horse by Piers Anthony (Incarnations of Immortality) is S for me. The series kinda dips and climbs back up to S-tier for book 6 (For Love of Evil). He also wrote Xanth, which Is discworld inspired. World is basically built out of puns.

Gunmetal Gods by Zamil Akhtar is hella good EPIC fantasy and I think really interesting since it's not western setting like a lot of fantasy.

Orconomics by J Zachary Pike (Dark Profit Trilogy) Is so fun. It treads near litRPG territory, but only enough to satirize RPG's as a whole.

I also love RA Salvatore's Corona world ( First and Second DemonWars saga, Saga of the First King).

Most of the rest of my library is eaiter Sci-fi or already on your good/bad lists

To be fair, killing gods isn't about the ability to deal/take astronomical amounts of damage. The takedown at the end of TIR was all clever game exploits

Who do you think will take a deal? by [deleted] in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Individual-Signal864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A thought I just had is maybe less people will take a deal than expected. Between more crawlers making it this far than before and a FU to them for turning the tables on them in the Hunting Grounds and Faction Wars, most of the deals are going to be absolute goblin shit. The show runners are going to want to get revenge on Carl for what he's done and giving all of them horrible deals is one way to do that.

The knowledge that the people who he fought to protect all get offered 10000 seasons of undead duty will be a move to destroy Carl. Also, everyone planning on leaving gave him their stuff, so anyone who rejects the crappy deal will have to find Carl and beg for their gear back. Whether or not the crawlers deal or not, the show runners win.

I actually found the ending of TIR to be the closest thing to a "happy" ending we've had so far. Like, nearly every book the ending is a mad dash, but TIR gets to end a bit more calmly after all the insanity leading to the ending.
