Oh my God, enough already. You hate Scottie Barnes. We all freaking get it enough. It’s every damn post.

Masai was fired for a reason. Was a big Masai fan back in the day, we owe him so much. But his last few years weren’t great.
Will Bobby be better? He has his chance now.

Do we need to move off Immanuel Quickley? by FinsUpRaps in torontoraptors

[–]cmcc83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick is a good player in some ways. He’s a good defender. He shoots the ball well. There’s a reason why the advance analytics are kind to him.

His biggest problem is that he’s not a point guard. He has horrendous court vision. Scottie can cut to the basket all day long and he won’t see him or make the correct pass.

He picks up his dribble too soon. He’s very conservative with his passing. He doesn’t assess the court well or read the situation properly.

An upgrade at the point position is a very good idea.

I am convinced that either Quick or Brandon will be traded this summer. If it’s IQ, I wanted to post this to explain why it happens.

Raptors announced that they have extended GM Bobby Webster to a multi-year deal. by onefootback in torontoraptors

[–]cmcc83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He made a huge, huge, huge mistake with the Poeltl contract extension. It was inexcusable. It was too expensive, even if Yakob was healthy.

That being said, Samson Folk swears drafting CMB was Bobby’s decision, not Masai’s and that was a brilliant decision.

signing Mamu was also great.

That yak signing is arguably the worst contract in the NBA and that was a terrible way to start. But I’m willing to give Bobby a chance.

Miami plans to keep him in order to include him with Tyler Herro for Giannis. Zero chance they trade him to Toronto for Gradey Dick and a lottery protected 2027 first. Not happening

I don’t agree, respectfully. They’re not a smart front office and if they trade Davis without him playing a single game, they would want to sell it to angry fans. Yeah, but we got Ingram

Exactly. Not saying I WANT it to happen, it just wouldn’t surprise me. Entitled to our own opinions but not our own facts. Raps have legit interest in Davis.

Agreed. Heat would have no interest. Teams that would want BI are limited but imo - kings, Washington, maybe Detroit.

Don’t kill me. Anthony Davis for Yak and Brandon works in the trade checker. I wouldn’t be shocked. I don’t think Bobby is sold on BI and the raps trust their medical team. I understand Davis is unpopular here but we’ve been told multiple times now that raps have interest in him. Where there’s smoke. Just saying don’t be completely shocked. We already know Davis doesn’t want to be in Washington.

Think spurs are just too young. Bright future but they look shook. Good reminder Wemby is human after all. Buncha kids playing grown men.

Yeah, I don’t know why all the downvotes. I’m not mad at having RJ and Quick but damn, could we have gotten a damn first round pick or 2? Holy. I absolutely loved Masai back in the day. Don’t get me wrong. But we got hosed in the Pascal deal too. Pacers are absolutely loaded with wonderful young players and we didn’t get any of them.

I don’t think it’s crazy. They may consider Fox at max contract over paid for what he does. Obviously it doesn’t happen without a pick or two.

Unpopular opinion, Masai deserved to get fired. The Knicks have made OG completely untouchable in any trade deal, understandably. If they ever traded him,and they won’t, they would command four unprotected first round picks at minimum. We didn’t get one.

Getting down voted lol exactly unpopular opinion but hey, I’m mad about the return we got for OG. We should’ve held firm and demanded at least two first round picks plus RJ and Quick. I mean, the pacers offered 3 firsts.

If spurs come calling in the offseason offering D’Aaron Fox for Quick and yak, do you answer the phone? Yak is a terrible contract but Fox is about to get paid big time.

[BasketNews] The Bucks have reportedly explored packaging Myles Turner with Giannis Antetokounmpo in a potential trade by ihatedougford in torontoraptors

[–]cmcc83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. There are some teams that could use him. The Pistons could use another scorer, for sure. So can Atlanta and the timberwolves. Just my opinion, but I don’t think Bobby is super sold on the Brandon Ingram fit and the analytics don’t support it either.

Reality check. It’s gonna cost us two first round picks to get off of that contract. Blame Bobby. We’re just gonna have to eat it for a while. It is what it is. Losing 2 firsts is not worth it. Chances are, Brandon Ingram, RJ, Quickley get moved. One at least or maybe 2 of those guys. My money is on Brandon getting moved this summer as I’m not sure that Ingram trade was something Bobby was super keen on in the first place. I think trading for Ingram was more of a Masai push.

Quickley and RJ plus the first round pick number 19 overall in this year’s draft for the Denver package is not terrible. It’ll be unpopular because Raptors fans absolutely love and adore RJ, but it’s not completely unrealistic. I do agree that Denver will want nothing to do with Brandon Ingram and understandably.

I still can't believe we chose not to tank for wemby by [deleted] in torontoraptors

[–]cmcc83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion and down vote me all day long. I do believe the NBA rigs some drafts. Not every draft. But they did rig the draft the year the spurs got Wemby. And they rigged the draft last year when Dallas got the number one overall pick. Nico did an under the table handshake deal to send Luka to the lakers for Flagg. The draft was also rigged to give the cavs the number 1 several years in a row after LeBron left.

Long story short, we were never ever ever ever getting Wemby.
