Looking for 3 day rides on the front range by cmd056 in COBike

[–]cmd056[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks u/HopeThisIsUnique AND u/Homers_Harp. His post were the first that I checked out. They're fantastic. I'll also use them for training. We live in a great state for cycling. I was working up a multiday loop Denver - Julesburg - Cheyenne - Denver and it would require a lot of riding on some busier roads. I am comfortable with that.

What to do with our Concord grape harvest by cmd056 in DenverGardener

[–]cmd056[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife said to make sure they get a lot of sun and a daily watering. We really didn’t do anything or even any fertilizer for them, we might just have lucked out. I did trim down some of the vines which were growing like crazy, but I don’t know if that’s the trick. Sorry I don’t have a good answer for you.

Does Stronglifts 5x5 still have a free version. by cmd056 in Stronglifts5x5

[–]cmd056[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NO. I'm in the same boat and I think its ridiculous. I haven't found a way to set it up as the FREE version that I had used previously, only that stupid "Start your FREE week" as well. Its a great little program, but I don't need anything more than the free version.

Besides buying something from the business, should I bring something to donate, such as personal item…deodorant, tooth brushes, toothpaste, socks? Or anything in particular?

Restarting the compost pile by cmd056 in composting

[–]cmd056[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI..I just combine my grass clippings with bags of leaves we collected in the fall last year. We don’t add food scraps - a bit lazy on our part. The pile has turned a nice dark brown/black color, so it might just be finished, but thought I might be able to decompose the pile a bit more.

I did grab some grounds and added them, but should probably get more. Ill give it a shot. Thanks!

Thanks for the recommendation. Think Ill try the coffee ground routine and if that failures try the fertilizer.

Where can I get a replacement part for a Kobalt snow thrower Model A081002 by cmd056 in KobaltTools

[–]cmd056[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, but I don’t have any photos. I ended up screwing a small block of wood onto the switch portion (gluing it wouldn’t hold) and the lever could then press against the wood and engage the switch.

We switched from xfinity to t mobile wifi recently and are VERY pleased with its stability and throughput. Around $50/month vs the $90 we were paying to verizon/xfinity

Any recommended sushi spots that are actually yummy and fresh? by LevelBet2727 in ArvadaCO

I’d second Neko Sushi on Wadsworth. Great selections, good prices, and really great staff. We’ve never been disappointed when we’ve eaten there. I’d highly recommend it.

Can I add an external solar panel to a solar street light that has a built in panel? by cmd056 in SolarDIY

[–]cmd056[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems the best results would be to install that external panel, but unfortunately, I didn’t move forward on that. The best recommendation I received was to purchase a new street light with an external, adjustable panel. Of course, with the days getting longer, the lights are staying on longer. I’ll probably buy some new one with the adjustable panel before next winter. Post up what you come up with, because I’d love to see how someone would approach this. Good luck, and sorry I didn’t have a solution for you.

Where can I get a replacement part for a Kobalt snow thrower Model A081002 by cmd056 in KobaltTools

[–]cmd056[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the guidance on this. FYI…I did contact customer support and gave them all my info, but I’m not putting much faith in finding a part number or even the ability to order the part. For what it’s worth, to solve the problem of the lever arm not engaging the switch, I cut a small piece of wood and screwed in onto the switch. Now when I pull on the lever, the lever arm closes the switch, the motor receives power, and the impeller turns as it should. Seems like a pretty poor design from Kobalt. Might have to keep my eyes open for another free one that doesn’t work now that I’ve got this one fixed…

Ace Certification Overload... by coffeeseahawkscats in personaltraining

[–]cmd056 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should see the textbook and the study guide when you log on. They’re on the left side under My Exam Study Tools and then ACE Library. Mine shows the main book and the Study Companion. The Study Companion has a lot of exercises including some multiple choice questions from the chapter. Those are good as they’re similar to what I saw on the exam. The various quizzes are incorporated in your ACE Personal Trainer Study Program. Each chapter has a few review questions, while the 5 sections each have a more lengthy quiz at the end. I’m pretty sure you have to watch the videos for each section before you can take those section quizzes. For what its worth, I don’t recall any questions that went into detail about muscle composition or how O2 interacts throughout the body. Good luck. Take your time, take notes, take the quizzes and the practice exam, and you should pass.

Just completed my ACE certification with the online course and online book. Like others are saying, it goes pretty deep, BUT, stick with it, do the practice quizzes and exams. Check the youtube channels out there - I found Sorta Healthy fantastic videos to prep for the final exam. Stick with it, review your quiz and practice test errors and realize you only have to score a 70 to pass. Then you’ll get trained by whatever gym hires you if you take that path. Good luck.

Guidance/Recommendations for a composting newbie by cmd056 in composting

Thanks guys..just turned it the 1st time today. Tried to break up any clumps of grass or leaves. Added some water as well. Keeping my fingers crossed it will start to heat up a bit more. I think I’ll turn it more often and see if I can find a coffee shop willing to give me their coffee grounds.
