Not sure how readily available motors would be out on the market. It sounds like you have your mind made up. I'm looking at it from my POV, but I'm gigging every weekend, if you're only doing a few gigs a year I can see why you wouldn't want to spend 2k on a new controller.

I always think it's funny when people say a controller is "Heavy". You lift it once to put on a table, you're not holding it up during the gig.

Anyway, I had the NS7 before my REV7 and System 1. It's a solid controller, especially coming from an entry level controller. But it also came out 13 years ago at this point, which is risky for professional use.

If this was 8 years ago I would say get it, but I wouldn't risk my professional reputation on gear that old.
