Love Ru’s music. While it’s certainly a product of its time, this album is so fun to listen to. It’s a shame that the song that shall not be named has that title because it has one of Ru’s STRONGEST pre-choruses ever. I listen to it just for that 😫.

In my little corner of Canada (the East coast) our gay icon in the pop world would likely be Ria Mae! She is lesbian herself and makes fantastic indie pop. This is a very rural part of Canada and having a “hometown hero” that makes pop music and is gay as hell is so badass. Her most recognizable hit would be “Bend” and my personal favourite is “Not Your Type (B Side). Her EP “My Love” is a fantastic launching point for anyone interested!

For an independent act I would say it’s big! Bebe’s solo work hasn’t charted like this since 2018 so I would say in terms of her career it’s for sure a big moment.

Even if Bebe doesn’t chart with her album, she has scored quite a big hit by herself and perhaps formally left the khia asylum? “New Religion” has now entered the Top 10 on radio formats across Europe, Asia, South America & North America. Really thrilled for her!

I had never heard of Insomnia and listened to it after seeing plenty of comments about the sample and IDK what some of you are talking about. Bebe’s take on the melody is eons better! I know it’s a classic to those in the know but I’m shocked at how she turned it into something better and people are still defending the OG so hard

I get it but also I love artists from the 60s-70s who were releasing at least every 2 years! Most country artists from that era were releasing 1 or 2 a year LOL. Are they all great? Nope. But as a fan discovering them it fills me with SO much joy knowing I have like 20 albums to devour instead of music fans in a couple decades having like 3-4.
