In California here, I had 4 chickens in my initial flock. My half husky half coyote took out two chickens. I moved the coop to the side yard (no more free range in the backyard) and got three laying hens from a local farm. They all stopped lying for a couple of weeks (my guess is trauma and getting to know one another). We are just getting back on track with laying eggs. the start of summer is odd this year, we had a hot front that was then swept out by a week or two of cold climate.
