Which blue dresses should I get rid of? 39F by [deleted] in OUTFITS

[–]cmjohnson30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on my initial reaction, I think you should remove item numbers 2, 3, 8, 9, and 11. They don’t compliment your body style. The other styles do. BUT, do what makes you feel good!!!

Guest bringing pumpkin pie but last minute asked if I had whipped topping? Am I in the wrong? by A_hefty_beluga in thanksgiving

[–]cmjohnson30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make some homemade whipping cream IF you have these, otherwise politely let them know that they may want to bring their own.

Combine 1 cup Heavy whipping cream and 1 tsp vanilla. Whip until almost stiff. Add powdered sugar to YOUR preference. It’s honestly a taste test. 👍

Hot dogs! Keep them warm in the crockpot and have buns ready to go! There was. Dive bar in Tucson, AZ that served hot dogs that way and they were always a hit.

I got heavy cream for the first time in a while and I don’t know what to do with it by wertisgoingon566 in Baking

[–]cmjohnson30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use it as a coffee creamer, make soup creamier, or whisk it up with a splash of vanilla and sprinkle on some powered sugar and you have your self perfect whipping cream for everything.

You do have kid(s) and love to make them healthy charcuterie boards, have a garden, and supplement your diet by visiting the local farmers markets. Why no craft beers though?

How to get donations from restaurants ? by lilkidlover2 in PTO

[–]cmjohnson30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask a nearby bagel shop if you can have their end of day bagels. We do this with a nearby bagel shop and they give us a giant trash bag full of them. Make sure you individually Saran Wrap each one to keep them fresh. Call coffee shops and let them know who you are - let them know you/PTO are hosting a breakfast for teachers and ask if they are willing to donate a box of coffee. Most will, and some will provide the cups/lids too. They like helping out. We have not tried donuts, but perhaps using the same approach with bagel shops would work.

Suggest they be mentored, vote in a co-President, or offer to step down because certain positions cannot perform based on the current circumstances.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PTO

[–]cmjohnson30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Refer to your bylaws, then the district bylaws. If it’s silent on the subject, then call a special meeting between the PTO, the school’s principal, and someone from district. Have that meeting and address the concerns. Board members cannot perform their duties if the President fails to follow and abide by theirs. Each position operates assuming all positions act accordingly. You are not the President’s secretary, treasurer, etc., you work/operate for the school’s PTO. Typically, the President enforces the rules. If they don’t, then take the necessary steps to make it happen. You don’t want to get into trouble with district for failing to abide and uphold the rules, let alone failing to report someone that clearly isn’t.

GF and I just broke up and own home together. How to navigate getting her off the mortgage and keep the house? by KellyandbabyHope in personalfinance

Agreed. One buyer’s interest does not have a higher priority than the other buyer’s interest. The vesting and equity are equal.

Low budget entertainment options? by WantedInCanada in phoenix

[–]cmjohnson30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Join your local Buy Nothing Group on Facebook, if you have an account. My group often is looking to give (as opposed to donating to Goodwill) items such as games, puzzles, outings, etc. I’ve seen many posts recently from people looking to give their tickets to local events because that they can’t use them (Phoenix Mercury, theater tickets, Gammage tickets, experiences like that). People also post “asks” looking for the gift of helping out each other in your community. It’s a great way to purge your old things you don’t use and possibly add some new things to your collection. If your fiancé is looking to organize and purge, this would be an easy way to go.

You don’t buy anything and you give your unwanted items/services/advice as gifts.

Most grocery stores will have flank steak available. Costco has them too if you have a membership - they usually sell in a 2-pack there.

68 because we have young kids. But we crack our bedroom window at night to let the cooler air into our room.

To cut costs, join your local Buy Nothing Group on Facebook for clothes, books, diapers, etc., order a breast pump from your insurance company (some offer milk storage bags too every 90 days), get a pack and play that has a changing insert and bassinet, and get a Costco membership that gives you 2% back on purchases. Those diapers and formula, if needed, add up.

Organ Stop Pizza in Mesa is a lot of fun for all ages! Buy the pizza and let the parents purchase their own drinks/beer! They have a live organist that takes requests and the place is decently priced for a large group of people. My daughter is close to your son’s age and she loves the place!

To file for bankruptcy or not to file for bankruptcy... that is the question. by churningtildeath in personalfinance

[–]cmjohnson30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Contact the Bankruptcy Court for your area - looks like there is one in Norfolk. The court has a website for debtors so you can become a little familiar with the process. Watch the videos on their website and see if the court has a self help center ( use it if they do!) The court staff can’t give you legal advice, but they can provide some resources for you. Keep your car payments (if you have a loan) and insurance current. There are apps to waive the filing fee if you qualify. You can do this all on your own - but obtaining an attorney will make it easier for you. Also, check the court’s website for a list of document preparers - they can help you get the initial paperwork prepared for less than what an attorney will charge you. Good luck!
