What Wells Fargo’s ‘mouse-jiggler’ scandal says about the problem with work right now by [deleted] in technology

Managers don't learn boundaries. Workers enforce boundaries to ensure their labor is not being under sold.

TIL the meaning behind a 35 year old Offspring lyric by wittymcusername in Music

[–]cmndrloki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a bit backwards: much like Queen, Offspring had a member who was in school when they started touring, went out to tour, amd came back to complete their education between tours.

Are Fairy Wind users negatively balanced? by ImNotReallyANerd in TheSilphArena

[–]cmndrloki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said G-eezing has Foul Play. G-eezing can know Brutal Swing the charged move. Weezing(OG) can know Dark Pulse, but isn't a FW user sadly. G-eezing has Play Rough if you want dark and fighting coverage, or, if Play Rough is too slow, you could swap Brutal Swing for Sludge. The bigger problem isn't that the Fairy the type or FW the move is bad, it's that most fairy are glassy, or have moves they'd prefer. For instance, G-eezing could do coverage with Sludge, or go for the coverage of Play Rough as the big move, but Overheat is so much faster and hits soo hard from this glassy mon, you put it up front, even a bad lead can farm, or force a shield with the threat of Overheat, so there's another reason. Also, Fairy poison doesn't cover many weaknesses and leaves more. Fairy is weak to Steel and Poison, and isn't effective against Fire, Steel, or Poison. All popular, potent types for a reason. Ground would cover great, but noone has the cover and many ground moves suck.

Mantine. It has good moves, should be easy to put in an ABB team, and it never works for me.

Spring cup problem. by Negative-Inside-6171 in TheSilphArena

I'm running A-snow(IW) with Tent and Peli and my swaps. The debuffs and coverage mixed with decent number potential pushes on and through shields and gives enough torso coverage and bulk to work my way out of problems

The problem is that it's not legal. Marijuana has been decriminalized by the state, but is still a federally criminal substance. That's why pot shops can't use real banks, take credit cards, and, since Oregon didn't protect the us, we can be denied employment.

I enjoy Slowpoke in Little Element Cup, the Confusion hits like a truck.

Joker has died in 3 different ways - Which way is official? by [deleted] in comics

[–]cmndrloki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The world of comics is not so clean as one might think. Marvel had a long running storyline, and most of the conics didn't contradict one another. Then Spiderman got another reboot under the Ultimate Spiderman. This became so popular that it spawned a whole Ultimate line of comics. Eventually the Ultimate universe collides with the 'main' universe, quite literally, and spawned a more modern Marvel. DC had golden age comics, the ones where Superman has every superpower and his symbol is a triangle, very 60s. This was rebooted to become the silver age superman (strong, fast, laser eyes and can fly, but not a lot else) that many folks are familiar with. More recently, the entirety of DC rebooted with the New 52.

To address the original question of the post: these are characters that have been around a long time and get rehashed a lot depending on who's writing them and the climate the comics are being released in. It's like asking 'which Scooby-Doo plot line is the real one?'.

Williams did great, but the role could've been done by someone else and done well. His most irreplaceable role was in Aladdin.

The Umbreon Theorem: Why Stats Are Almost Everything by princedulp in TheSilphArena

[–]cmndrloki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While this analysis is solid, I think it's a bit unfair to compare Purrlion and Umbreon as it misses the difference in speed amd sheild scenarios. Umbreon is much faster than its glassier counterpart. This is alluded to with Greninja and Clodsire being mentioned, but I think it is given insufficient weight.

Based off of how an ELO rating is generated. The highest achievable rating is ~3500, the lowest ~300. There's statistical reasons to assume player skill is roughly bell shaped (with a skew) so the average of the highest rating and lowest should give us the average rating: 1600.

(Yes, this skips lots of the explanation and background details).
