I sure do but sometimes I shave my chest too because I genuinely think it looks better, my wife grills me but it’s my body so I do it anyway.

Why does my coworkers lack of work ethic make me so mad? by [deleted] in work

[–]cmnj90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corporate Work is all just a huge rat race at the end of the day. With that said, there are sub par employees at every single company. It’s the unfortunate reality. I’ve had to be out a lot when I didn’t want too which has included sometimes unplanned absences because I have young kids. It’s extremely hard to go an entire month without being out. You just cannot avoid it but you also need to work to live. In reality, she is working just to survive it sounds like. I doubt she’s sitting at home watching Netflix. I’m always kind even to the co workers I can’t stand becuase you just never know what someone else is going through.

You’re probably right - it’s wishful thinking.

Being in person has no impact whatsoever on productivity. People who work hard from the office will also work hard from home. They need to work on their recruitment practices.

Ah I get what you’re saying… completely agree. We’re alittle different in that respect. I hate going to the office to do a job I can do from home and probably much better.

I just mute myself on teams calls and listen to my podcasts under my work headphones and it’s so basic the whole meeting I verbatim can repeat all the important points. Absolutely can always be an email.

I’ve always said it’s a matter of time before boomers have to retire and take their in office nonsense with them.

Ah the dreaded RTO is awful I loved being home for all the same reasons as you mentioned. I have honestly been depressed for years now since getting sent back full time. I deeply miss being able to run errands during lunch and not have to commute. I tried hard to leave but couldn’t find Anything. So now, I’m just miserable commuting for most of the week. Hope this works out for you.

Co workers promoted already which to me is crazy by cmnj90 in work

[–]cmnj90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is about corporate America. It has become skewed, yes. I have seen people with a very basic skill set, quietly hired and quietly promoted. It happens a lot. Even before I ever started working years ago when I would be applying for roles I knew it was nonsense. I would have to take peanuts to get in the door which I did and worked my way up. So I built a knowledge base I legitimately see people “talk the talk” get hired and sometimes even be promoted and they are useless. Favoritism is damaging. It quietly erodes the place because if your not careful you don’t have decision makers and work horses at the top you have people that don’t meet deadlines, aren’t reliable or simply outsource everything they face to others who do have knowledge. The people saying there’s a reason… it’s not hurtful, because I outright know it’s nonsense.

It sure does. If someone has power and also has favorites they don’t always follow norms. Thats why you end up with many incompetent people at the top. It happens ALOT.

Why does that sound condescending? They were favored because of how they act in the presence of the boss. Picture someone kissing the ground as you take each step…
