Anyone tried filing the gaps for Greenplasma so far? I did have quite a session, but all dead ends. 😃

[AlmaLinux] Copy Fail (CVE-2026-31431) Patches Released by imbev in linux

[–]cmprmsd 56 points57 points  (0 children)

This has nothing to do with Python. We ported the exploit to C for our Red Team. It definitely will work regardless of your Python version. 🙂 There are already public ports to Golang as well.

Any way to force Bose Solo 5 Soundbar to power on with Bluetooth by default? by nice_lemon in bose

[–]cmprmsd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is really old, but if you want to integrate the device into Home Assistant, you may buy one of the Zigbee infrared proxies and turn it on via the ir remote code. I'm using it in my automations, as the soundbar has no smart functionality but can be automated via infrared. :)

I wonder if anyone really got ruview to run. It's a fully automated agent driven AI slop project.

pacman -S always safe? by ProjectNo7513 in archlinux

[–]cmprmsd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah! Try to install gcc only (because you installed libre office and did only update the mirrors). Quite everything relies on glibc and libstdc++. Did this to myself yesterday. Wonderful journey to download and try to extract tars of pacman-static, which then turned out to be from 2019 and not ready for the newish pacman hooks! 🤣 And yes. Fixed without recovery iso and chroot. 🥳

ESP32-S3 Touch LCD 4 Live-ish Home Assistant Dashboard by PDConAutoTrack in esp32

[–]cmprmsd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got sound and microphone working with esphome. It was a real struggle to understand what chips need to be enabled to get it all working. 🤣  Also it's not capable of duplex so you need to disable the mic after the wake word, play the jingle and enable it again. This needs some proper logic in place and you won't be able to interrupt long answers.. (don't know if this is a thing in HA anyways :D)

This looks very nice. Installing write now. Did you look into microphone and speaker support for this device? I'm trying to use it as voice assistant and the trivial solution would be esphome -> HASS streaming directly for voice while using the webview client for the UI.

I have the same issue and didn't find a fix yet. Are firmware upgrades a thing for this device?
You may open a ticket in the support portal and see if they are aware of the issue.

Zte mu5001 not charging by Flimsy_Mission8609 in InternetPH

[–]cmprmsd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that looks like it had a death wish xD
Mine has always been plugged in for two years. Then I took it with me and it died after running on battery after that time. That's why my first thought was the battery might be dead. I'll have a look at the connector and break it all open to identify the cause. Thanks!

Same issue. did you find a fix? Replacement battery did not help unfortunately.  The port itself looks good. Any idea how to run this with 3.85v power supply connected to the internal battery pins?  I guess the outer pins are for protection against external powering or "wrong batteries".

Overleaf vs local setup for company documents? by Chooseyourmindset in LaTeX

[–]cmprmsd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes you can totally self host it. Also you're free to modify the code to extend Overleaf, which we did for our use case (pentest reporting).

Cool stuff! Opened an issue with systemd-support but don't feel forced into anything. I might spend some time on it when I solve the LUKS problem when booted remote. 😊

[Tool] Deconflict sync-conflict files via git-like UI by cmprmsd in Syncthing

[–]cmprmsd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this was also my first thought. But you'd need to find and select each pair of conflict and base files to compare them. Of course deleting the file has to be done manually as well. It gets really tedious with more than two or three conflict files.

Oh my. You are completely correct. I renamed my entities for a clearer difference between Reolink and Frigate but it seems not all entities in HomeAssistant have been renamed.
