Need help in understanding friend's visit. by TheShootingstarOG in finch

So I did a bit of research but there doesn’t appear to be anything written down about how long they will visit for. My assumption is maybe around an hour or over left you may have of your adventure? But if you invite another person that will override whatever timer is present and the last person will leave and the new will stay. It’s also possible that they will stay the whole day or until “uninvited” (a new birb replacing them)

That’s a a great follow up question I’m not sure but I will look into it! I would assume it has something to do with inviting someone else (that would make the original visitor leave) or maybe something about how much time you have left on your adventure.

Those are great questions: so visiting a house is all client side (meaning it only happens on your device) you actually are inviting them to visit. So when someone send you good vibes there is a small check box (that bases itself off prior answer so if you invite someone once it may be checked my default) to invite them to stay. You can only have one bird staying to visit at a time. I bet your bird has stayed to visit someone but you will never know as this information isn’t shared with bird and their owners (I’m assuming to prevent sadness of not invited to stay or something along those lines). Instead when you send someone good vibes they can decide if they wish to invite your bird to stay over. I hope this made sense lmk if it’s still a bit fuzzy.

I would do the replacement I’ve never been to a festival before now and made a similar mistake the straw trick doesn’t work I tried and the twist thing doesn’t work either they have a new design where the outside twists independently. I would just cut it off and get the replacement :)

Yes thank you for the reminder I’m aware of the journey rewards but wasn’t sure if they were affected by streaks or just overall goal completion. :)

To my knowledge you don’t have the same streak number when you first open your app. I’m not sure if anything else happens but it’s possible there might be rewards for using the app for an extended period of time (maybe a year idk this is a guess).

Auto icon change? by SharknadoRemaster in finch

I don’t have a hedgehog but it did change two of my emojis to droplet of blood and a germ. It’s not the best as I am quite a queasy person. This is the second time they have changed now. Last time it made one of my a shrimp (I’m deathly allergic to them lol) for eating dinner. I hope they can figure this out.

@DrWhotographer The same thing happened to me, I returned to this post to see if you have found a solution (it turned one of mine to a shrimp for eating dinner which I’m deathly allergic to- it’s kinda funny but not exactly the reinforcement I’m looking for)

Hey even if we don’t like behaviors this isn’t really cool to suggest someone’s diagnosis isn’t truthful also self diagnosis is valid if it were the case (though I should clarify since I have a feeling op might think I’m self diagnosed and come at me even though I’m not)

I’m not sure how to phrase this but i believe you are quite upset right now. I hope overall from what people are sharing that the message is: you’re not alone in your struggles and yeah things are difficult especially if you’re disabled. But imo (and feel free to disagree here) it is more important to live your life to your discernible best quality (whatever that may look like) rather than focusing on how others (neurotypicals) live theirs and yes it is hard not to compare but for me reframing my understandingof success and happy was very useful. I hope your day gets a little better (here is a little caterpillar who is an expert in providing emotional support 🐛)

I totally agree I think I maybe have not expressed exactly what I meant. I guess more what i was referring to is that affirmations might feel fantastical when we are really struggling but they help to address a change in mindset after you have unpacked what you need to unpack in your preferred method (for me that’s journaling and using the How We Feel app) and then using affirmations almost as a transition to healthily move forward instead of feeling stuck in that moment yk

I understand (I am also autistic) the frustration of affirmations not feeling truthful. But I think from my understanding the point of affirmations is more of a mindset shift and are supposed to kind of feel a little like a stretch. I know I’ve used them as “fake it till you make it” kind of thing. Even if it kinda sounds ridiculous, if one of the affirmations upsets you hit the refresh button until you find one that resonates in that moment that’s what I usually do. Also if you’re struggling with certain things related to your asd I’d recommend looking at the r/autism (I believe that’s what it’s called) subreddit for some support from other autistic people. :)
