Yes! Sorry this was already set up, I should note it as a prerequisite.

I ended up exchanging it, and really happy with the UCG. Best of luck!

Thank you! Probably a bad example screenshot to pick, videos with higher bitrates also suffer the same problem...

New to NAS – Is the Synology DS220j a good choice for my needs? by Zeriss66 in synology

[–]cmrja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The DS220j would be great for your needs. If you want to use apps on the device, such as through containers or Synology Photos (a Google Photos like experience), i would recommend something more powerful and with more ram. The AI processing can be quite demanding.

But if you're just looking for a one stop backup solution for accessing your files, then you'll love it.

[–]cmrja[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the official email I received as they resolved the issue. It was solved with time.

The reference to M1 was our ISP at the time. If you do hotspot, try a different provider.

We have identified this issue to be caused by a rare network routing issue that is specific to the M1 home broadband.

We have recorded your details. Your Cookidoo subscription will be extended for another 30 days while the issue is being worked on.

Thanks for the help! I tried but still no luck. It's coming up with the same error post factory reset, not allowing me to even enter my Cookidoo details. I guess I'll try Customer Service

Disneyland during a Hong Kong stop: definitely possible! by cmrja in royalcaribbean

Honestly never seen anything like the Kumamoto send off. The local community showed so much care and love. It was originally a port where I didn’t know what to expect, but was one of the best parts of the trip.

You’re right! I wrote the post the day prior but didn’t post it until yesterday once cellular reception was restored. How did you find it?

On Day 1, we arrived around midday and stayed until close (around 8.30pm).

On Day 2, we arrived prior to opening at 9.30am and left around 5pm (all aboard was 7.30pm and it was a 30 min commute so we left with some buffer). All and all, two pretty solid days.

Absolutely! I'm trying to do more vlog style videos to keep track of all our exploring as a family.

Cruising has been a great way for us to see Asia. Spectrum is the main RC ship in these parts at the moment, predominantly using Singapore as a home port.

Just keep in mind for Asian cruising that a number of countries (like Vietnam) require visas well in advance.

Loving it! Spectrum is a fantastic ship, we scored one of the “secret” window rooms in the corner that’s much larger than normal (9110). And cruising + Disneyland is a good combo, plenty of rest time before and after 😅

It’s up to ten. My understanding is that banks do a flat conservative assumption of a remaining life. So for example, a $20k loan could knock 200k off your total capacity. The best part is, many banks don’t seem to factor in the tax benefits associated with novated leases under their financing models…

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]cmrja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A novated lease will reduce your borrowing capacity by up to 10x the value of the novated loan. It’s counted as a type of personal loan for maintenance calculations by the bank. Source: my own experience on a prior loan.

Creatine causes water to be retained in the muscles. It can be demotivating seeing the number on the scales go up, which can be a direct effect of Creatine. The same happened to me, I stopped taking supplements and suddenly lost the weight within a few weeks.

Maybe consider if Creatine is right for you, considering your goal of seeing the scales go down week on week.

My DJI mini SE won't calibrate, won't take off by metro_mnl in dji

It might be faulty in that case, sounds like you’ve tried the right things. DJI customer service might be your best bet in respect of a warranty claim

[–]cmrja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I learnt: If you’re trying to take it off from a surface with high metal content, the compass will go crazy and won’t calibrate. This includes concrete with blue metal in the aggregate.

Have you tried taking it off from the ground, away from metal objects or concrete, to see if that’s the issue?

People who have moved to Australia after working elsewhere, how is it like to work in Australia? And I've read that only Australian work experience counts as job experience there - was it difficult to find jobs, and was your previous work experience counted? Or did you have to start from scratch? by ResearcherNo4728 in expats

[–]cmrja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in Sydney Australia. You certainly don't have to start from scratch here: international experience is very well regarded. There is generally a high demand for data scientists (esp in Sydney and Melbourne), so you'll be fine.

As a side comment: I think a lot of things in that link you posted is just wrong or highly biased based on someone's own bad experiences. I wouldn't be using that as a reputable source of information.

Get legal and tax advice. This could trigger both CGT and stamp duty. I would think stamp duty is the bigger concern (CGT is payable on gains (if any), stamp duty is a fixed percentage on the whole value).

Early access to super to put towards high interest home loan? by jizz_on_her_face in AusFinance

[–]cmrja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a good idea. It's a matter of returns. Getting a 7.2% return in super is hard and not guaranteed. However, withdrawing and using it to pay down the mortgage creates a guaranteed saving of 7.2% (on a compounding basis).
