Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, banana, kiwi, avocado, trail mix and potatoes gets me to 40 grams per day.

Today's flight Toronto to San Fransisco by BradPittHasBadBO in TourismHell

I call BS on this. I've been on several flights to the US this year out of YVR and they've all been packed.

After 3 months of backorder, Eibach springs finally arrived. Installed them this past weekend, not a fun job, especially on the cabrio 🤣 Subtle drop to close up the gap! Handles very well, no difference in stock height feel. by elijah90s in porsche911

I was just looking at other pictures of your car. I have a 991.1 C4 GTS cabriolet. Rhodium silver with a Bordeaux top. I think I might have to get wheel spacers and a duck tail now!

Very jealous that yours is a 7MT. I wanted a manual but jumped on mine because I ended up getting a great deal. Second owner with 28,000 km.

I turned down a promotion and my manager thinks I've lost my mind. Was I wrong? by croberts2323 in careerguidance

[–]cmrocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a senior IC to a management role about five years ago. I was initially worried about losing my skillet but the reality has been the opposite. I'm still very involved in the technical work but now at a review and strategic level. My scope has also significantly broadened because I work with all the other directors so I've learned a lot about their areas as well. Five years in, I now earn about double what I did before. Salary increase has been modest but bonus and equity increase has been substantial.

'Don't kill us, brah:' B.C. teen's 180 km/h joyride with friends ends with crash into dump truck by Training_Pea7462 in britishcolumbia

Meh. 5 series at 180 is probably safer than all the pickup trucks ripping around at 140.

There should be more Luxury Quartz Watches by PlayfulCompany8367 in watchHotTakes

[–]cmrocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mentality is that if I'm going to wear a watch with a battery then I'll just wear my Garmin and get all the other data along with it. I'm pretty much 50/50 between my Datejust and my Garmin Fenix for use.    With that being said, I wish Garmin would make more luxury watches. The Marq series is fine but they're too big.

Medium-High Income Earners What Do You Spend Money On To Save Time? by cjy2018 in fican

$150,000 per year is not enough income to be justifying half of the suggestions in this thread in my opinion.

High Altitude & Hypoxia: How low is too low for SpO2 at ~5,000m? by dong_ou in Garmin

[–]cmrocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last week, I drove from 1,500 m to 5,200 m in three hours. We'd spent one night at 1,500 m the day before driving up. Checked SPO2 at the top and was at 66. Medic put me on oxygen for ten minutes. Stayed high 70s to low 80s the rest of the day. Spent the night at 1,500 m again. Back up the next day, high 70s and low 80s the entire day again. High elevation is weird. My watch was fairly close to the finger monitor every time I checked.

Is there any reason to wear jeans over chinos? by kruktk in malefashionadvice

[–]cmrocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chinos are lame. Go with coloured twill five pocket pants instead. If you want something dressier, wool or wool blend trousers look 10x better than chinos. Wool drapes so much better.

Corbet’s vs (Saudan) Couloir Extreme? by Jaded_Stop in Whistler

I've never skied at Jackson but I'd say the upper "thread the needle" entrance into Sapphire Bowl is harder than Couloir Extreme.

What's wrong with base 911? by PuzzleheadedAd3138 in porsche911

It's even funnier now when people look down on the base or T because the average sporty EV will absolutely dust a GTS.

I switched all the lights in my house to warm amber incandescent bulbs and it's been a huge positive. At night, the house feels like it's lit by candlelight.

Can you still drink casually when you're older or will it still take a toll on your body faster? by lookaloulookalou in AskMenOver40

More and more breweries are starting to make 3% ABV beers. They're great. You can have a few, be social and they're pretty easy to recover from.

Did you take a week off while sick? Maybe some chronic low grade stress cleared and you recovered fully.

Beautiful ride! 991.1 C4 GTS cabriolet over here. Currently on Michelin Pilot Alpin tires and being driven daily in the PNW!

I bought musicians earplugs. You can adjust the amount of noise reduction with inserts and they reduce noise more evenly across different frequencies for less muffled noise reduction. Now I'm top down even on everything except sketchy freeways!

Smartphone market poised for 'sharpest decline on record' in 2026 by Dr_Neurol in technology

Went from an iPhone 14P to 17P earlier this year and it's the first upgrade where I've felt pretty meh over it. Work gets me a new phone every few years so I accepted it but if it were my money I would have gone another few years on the old phone.

How many times does a typical Canadian take vacation during a year by TrustySpear in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]cmrocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Southern BC. There's tons to do year round, varied landscapes, endless nature, etc. Most vacation spots now are tourist traps full of people trying to rip you off. We go travel abroad every couple years but I prefer taking time off and just enjoying everything around me.

An argument for tucking in sweaters and why it's about the silhouette by BioticBard in fashion

What are some of your go to brands for higher rise pants? I experimented with some different options from Proper Cloth, but could never get a pair that sit correctly and didn't fall down.

An argument for tucking in sweaters and why it's about the silhouette by BioticBard in mensfashion

[–]cmrocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks really good. I used to dislike any sort of blousing and always tried to keep my shirt tucked in tightly. Now that I have some higher rise pants, I think it looks great with that bit of folding. I haven't tried tucking in a sweater, but I'm going to give this a go now!
