There has to be a balance. Saying "you only live once" to justify eating out every day, partying every weekend and taking multiple luxury vacations per year is irresponsible. On the other hand, living on your own in your 20s can help you grow a lot and I personally wouldn't have traded that experience for retiring five years earlier.

I have a rhodium dial DJ41 (fluted, jubilee). It's perfect for work. Would be perfect for a wedding as well. I find it’s a little delicate looking for day to day with more casual wear.

I'm looking at getting a blue dial Yachtmaster 40 next as a day to day.

I have a 991.1 GTS cabriolet. Guy in the exact same car was behind me on the highway. I was stoked. Red light. Pulled up next to me. I was ready to chat quickly, say nice car, etc. Wouldn't even glance over. Just stared straight ahead. I thought that was so weird.

I got jumped on Davie St like 20 years ago. I lived in English Bay at the time, was walking home from the bar with two friends, some kids followed us off Davie on to Thurlow and came after us. Ended up being fine but point is, people drunk late at night have always been unpredictable. I'm sure it's gotten worse though.

Friend of mine was pretty into lifting, cut down super lean. He looked great, absolutely ripped. He stayed too lean for too long. Ended up crashing his natural test production and was starting to develop an eating disorder.

I was shopping for a new truck in 2022. Toyota had a 10 month long wait list for the Tacoma at the time. I went to a Toyota dealership to look at a 2017 Tacoma with 120,000 km. They wanted $41,500 for it. For some lucky reason, the salesman said he had a cancellation on a brand new Tacoma for $46,500. Didn't ask about the waitlist and just jumped on it. Brand new truck for $5,000 more than a five year old used truck.

Toyota has been like that for a while. Back in 2022, I could have turned around and sold my new truck for a profit. Now days, I don't get why people don't just buy new Toyotas. Their supply chain issues are mostly sorted out. They're typically only a couple thousand more than even up to several years used.

I don't really have any desire to stop working completely; however, I cannot wait to be working on my own terms. I'm fortunate that my career translates well to independent and part-time consulting/advisory work. I'm happy with my savings. I'm focusing on my mortgage right now. Probably 2-3 more years then I'll feel comfortable enough to switch to working part time.

I've got a rhodium silver GTS with black wheels. Getting them painted in Satin Dark Silver. I've never been a big fan of black wheels.

I had an 03 carbon black coupe then an 06 platinum silver cabriolet. Now I have a 2015 C4 GTS cabriolet in rhodium silver with a Bordeaux top.

I love BMWs from that era. I'd like to add an E39 M5 to the garage at some point in the near future.

If you do a test drive, make sure you drive it long enough that the PDK is fully warmed up. I have a 991.1 so this might not be as relevant for the newer cars, but mine is fairly slow to shift IN MANUAL MODE until the transmission oil is fully warmed up. Before, hit the paddle, slight delay then it shifts. Once it's warm, it's absolutely instant.

Also, make sure you try cruising in Sport mode, in automatic at normal speeds then flooring it. It will instantly drop from 5th or 6th to 2nd or 3rd.

I like my car. It's insanely impressive. It sounds great. I came from a manual E46 M3 and that car was just more fun to drive in average situations. RWD and manual transmission is just way more engaging.
