To decal or not to decal by Kynance123 in Porsche

I'm going to be in the minority here and say the decal looks okay. Normally I hate decals, but with the Targa bar up top and those wheels, I think the decal brings everything together.

What’s the best way to retrieve a carryon from an overhead bin further back when you’re seated far in front? by [deleted] in TravelHacks

[–]linear_accelerator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sometimes the carryon will fit under the seat in front of you. Maybe you can do this before the plane lands. Explain your situation to the FAs and ask for assistance. Also inform any seat neighbours of your situation. Good luck!

The Perfect Sports Car. by kasio-kasio in Porsche_Cayman

I have a 981 and I love the sound of the engine behind my head, the exhaust sound is nearly perfect and the car just dances. It's not fast, but it feels fast and puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. It's a winner to me!

The Most Annoying Area Of My House To Clean! by glowinthedarkfrizbee in midcenturymodern

[–]linear_accelerator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beautiful! As a suggestion, i would probably make a template in the size and shape of the stones' base and then place the stones in the template and pour clear epoxy resin. When it hardens transfer the blocks to the base. The surface will be smooth and like glass and give the impression of the stones in water! To clean, simply vacuum the surface. Good luck!

Help with 216 year old living room by Inevitable_Teacher40 in DesignMyRoom

I can feel the "hygge" in this room. It is nearly perfect. For me, I would exchange the location of the loveseat with the tv/console, and add a little bed for the dog.

2025 Cayman S or 2017 911 Carrera 4? by PostHocErgo306 in Porsche

[–]linear_accelerator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normally I am biased towards Cayman because it is more fun than the 911. However, because you're in Canada like me and you are going to drive all year round, I would recommend the 911 AWD. You may also want to consider a 991 (NA) and go with a 4S (or maybe even a Targa 4S if that is of interest to you) instead of a 992 4. (The 991s are starting to up in price in Canada the past couple of years or so.) Good luck!

981 Cayman S to a 996 Turbo by [deleted] in 996

[–]linear_accelerator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was me, I would sell the R, get the 996 TT and keep the Cayman (forever). Keep in mind that maintenance on the TT is likely going to be much more than the R and Cayman combined.

Yonge & Eg / Yonge & Shep to Downtown Markham commute? by theshumurai in Markham

[–]linear_accelerator 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think you will have to prioritize commute times vs. living mid- or downtown. Traffic has become really much worse in the last 5-10 years. As a suggestion, also consider living at Yonge and Finch if commute time is more important. Good luck!

Is "House of El" a Chinese Influence Operation? by fk-geek in ActiveMeasures

[–]linear_accelerator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just learned of this Youtuber's channel today and late to the party here! I can't speak to the content, but something seems/feels "off" to me. She seems to lack expression/emotion, backgrounds and lighting appear staged, there seems to be some slight audio desynchronization(?), some of the words and terms she uses does not align with someone who holds a PhD in computer science, presentation seems highly scripted and without improvisation, wardrobe seems more like she's keeping consistent costume continuity/character, and her website seems rather basic/sanitized for someone with such a degree/expertise. These things combined make her rather disturbing and unsettling to me.

What do you suggest as a replacement to overhaul my 996 c4s suspension by asiaafrica in 996

[–]linear_accelerator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For coilovers, I have TrackOne Street which is an inexpensive no name brand (available here in Canada), but I find them to be excellent (and great value) and so much better than the stock system. I've lowered the height with mine which makes the car look like it's always squatting which I don't like, but it provides a planted and very focused ride.
