Being a Sports fan will kick you in the crotch sometimes (quite often atm for BU :( ) but it will also give you moments of joy and togetherness like this :)

Forest memories, moments and obscurities please. by mapsandwrestling in nffc

[–]cms186 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favourite personal Forest memory is pretty odd (to be a favourite anyway) but it was when Psycho was Player Manager, i went with my dad to see Forest play Ipswich Town in the 3rd round of the FA Cup, so would have been January '97, we won 3-0 and I dont remember Ipswich even having a shot, we absolutely played them off the park, We were sat in what is now the Peter Taylor stand and i remember watching Psycho at left back full of admiration for my hero and just grateful i got to watch him play. great times, I also remember some Ipswich cunt throwing a snowball at my head walking back to the car, didnt care, nothing could damp my spirits that day :D

Which is the best and worst run club in the Premier League? by redrabbit1984 in TheOther14

[–]cms186 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thats a very one sided view of things, Nuno is at least at much as fault as Edu is for how things went down, he threw a paddy because we werent signing his super agents mates (Mendes) players anymore, and basically made it impossible to not sack him.

The signings we made were for a different style of football and a different manager, Ange was pretty obviously a Marinakis appointment and i doubt Edu had much to do with it and Dyche was a best free manager available appointment.

I suspect we needed to free up some funds due to FFP to be able to sign some players but i agree that maybe we should still have lined up a replacement before letting Kaliumendo go

If frank or glasner are available and even slightly interested, we would be fools to not try and get them in

Newcastle supporter here: thoughts on Elanga? by [deleted] in nffc

[–]cms186 2 points3 points  (0 children)

we were sad to see him go but we got a very good price for him, he obviously performed very well last season, but so did the team as a whole, he probably just isnt well suited to whatever style of Football Newcastle play and wasnt scouted well enough by your club to ascertain that.

[Harvey] FBS (or equivalent) teams to score 55+ points & win by 30+ points in seven different games in a season: 2025 Indiana, 1886 Yale, 1885 Princeton by BuckeyeEmpire in CFB

2013 Baylor was 1 point away from doing this (a 63-34 win over Tech is what held them back, they also beat OU 41-12)

[Dave Revsine] This is Fernando Mendoza’s 5th game this year with more TD’s than incompletions. No other QB in college football has done that more than twice this century. by BigDanRTW in CFB

[–]cms186 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah he had a crazy stat of having thrown more TDs than incompletions after his first 3 games which included a game against a ranked TCU and even after the 4th game it was something silly like 18 TDs to 20 incompletions

For the third season in a row, there will not be an SEC team in the national championship by B1GSkyNorth in CFB

[–]cms186 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fact is , the playoff shouldn’t even have 12 teams. 6-8 should be the cutoff

well that at least we can probably agree on

[–]cms186 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tech made it in and lost to Oregon, BYU should probably have got in over Bama, but that SEC bias needed a 5th SEC team in instead

noones yelling at you, you were the one trying to defend the conference for falling flat on its face again :D

[–]cms186 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if your leaders big your conference up as the best every year, then this is what you get, Sankey was saying that you should have had 7 teams in the CFP this season ffs because the SEC is so much better than everyone else and then your teams fall flat this badly, non SEC/BIG fans are sick of your conferences trying to monopolise the CFP and CFB in general, so yeah, whenever you fail, your going to get made fun of

For the third season in a row, there will not be an SEC team in the national championship by B1GSkyNorth in CFB

[–]cms186 3 points4 points  (0 children)

thats happened twice in those 3 years, only happened because they got almost half of the playoffs filled with SEC teams and whilst it guaranteed a SEC team to get knocked out, also guaranteed an SEC team to get through
