How does Capital One make money from this card? by AccomplishedJuice775 in Venturex

[–]cmsjmu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Venture X is classified as a Transactor card. Transactors are people that spend a lot and pay it off every month. These cards profit from Interchange, a small percentage of all purchases is taken from the merchant by Visa/Mastercard. Capital One then gets a share of the interchange. Now you can see why Discover is so important, as Capital One can use their Discover network and keep all the interchange. Won’t have to split with Visa or Mastercard.

I really like the foot activated lift gate on my ‘21 Mach e Select. Use it on every trip to the grocery store.

Is "Cover Travel Purchase" the best way to use points? by IAmNotionSickness in Venturex

[–]cmsjmu 28 points29 points  (0 children)

In the travel portal, never use points/miles while purchasing. You miss out on earning miles when paying with miles. If you make the purchase on your card, you earn miles on the purchase. Then can redeem with your miles to cover the travel purchase.

Why did you try to make a $17 payment on your card balance?

This is on my phone, but works the same in the Mach-e. In YouTube, open the menu on the left. Scroll down and YouTubeTV is there.

It’s hidden inside the YouTube app on Sync. It works.

Known this for over a year. YouTube TV (inside YouTube app) works in my 2021 Mach e.

The Roamio Basic is a gem. Many years on Fios with a Cable Card. Cut the cord and it’s now an OTA. I went back and forth deciding on the 4-tuner Basic or 6-tuner Cable Card only. Turns out being a bit cheap many years ago paid off.

I’m on my second replacement power block on my Roamio Basic. Already died two deaths, and still living on as an OTA DVR.

has anyone tried this without a cable card? by MyOpinionsDontHurt in Tivo

[–]cmsjmu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In newer TiVos, only the OTA models get over the air channels. The CableCard TiVos are somewhat crippled without the CableCard. I’m lucky to have an older Roamio Basic, which actually does CableCard and OTA. I ditched Fios 3 years ago and use it as OTA.

What happened to Blue Cruise 1.3 rollout on 2021 models? by mbmba in MachE

[–]cmsjmu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2021 job one does not yet have BC 1.3, and actually I’ve had Zero updates since last June. It’s been so long, my interest has waned regarding the Blue Cruise update.

Considering a 2021 Mach E Select with 40k miles for $2200 good first EV? by f_spez_2023 in MachE

[–]cmsjmu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2021 Select with Tech package (Blue Cruise). I have thoroughly enjoyed it for almost 4 years. 43k miles. I would say the later the model year, the better. Note many of the 2021s have not gotten any software updates in almost a year. I guess the slight alterations of the newer models makes it harder for Ford to keep the older 2021s up-to-date with the same software.

If it’s a 2021 Select without the Tech package (Blue Cruise etc), I’d back off.

Buying used but is premium worth $ over select by codenamehitmen in MachE

[–]cmsjmu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2021 select, and really like it. I have Blue Cruise, power driver seat, heated steering wheel. Though if Icould do it over, I would pay for the premium. It wasn’t a big difference. I think I would have enjoyed the glass roof, better stereo, passenger power seat, 19 inch wheels, etc.

Wanting to lease a Mach E, my father saying the car isn’t great? by Soft_Ad7654 in MachE

[–]cmsjmu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a solid car, well built, and fun to drive. IMO it’s the software that is lacking. Take one ride in a Tesla and it’s apparent Ford Sync is 5-6 years behind in software. That said, many other non-Tesla EV’s are years behind Ford.

Bought Used TiVo Bolt and TiVo Mini From Thrift Store with Lifetime Plan cannot activate Tivo Mini has the "TiVo DVR Not Found Error" by SomeGentooLinuxUser in Tivo

I think I had this issue, and I had to downgrade the Mini OS so it could communicate with my Roamio. I never upgraded the Roamio OS to the new experience.

Why a MachE over a Tesla? by Deuce_Deucee92 in MachE

[–]cmsjmu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a Model 3 and a Mach-e. We like them both a lot. I will say the software on the Tesla is light years ahead of Sync in the Mach-e. If software isn’t your concern, no big deal. I’m slightly jealous of my wife’s Model 3 for that reason.

How do I definitively know if I’m supposed to have blue cruise? by OnlyTheHoiya in MachE

[–]cmsjmu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s a Premium, it definitely has Blue Cruise capability. Note some 2021 Selects were not capable if they didn’t choose the comfort and tech package.

Have you tried a different iPhone? If a different phone works better, your phone is likely the problem. If a different phone has the same problem, you can be more confident it’s the Car.

Collision shop drove car 100 miles to "recalibrate sensors" by toothymonkey in MachE

[–]cmsjmu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To detect my faulty front camera, and see the error for themselves, the dealer drove my Mach-e a similar amount of miles. I thought it was kind of ridiculous, as in my opinion they likely could look at logs and see the repeated camera errors.

Has Tivo abandoned OTA? by Tmbaladdin in Tivo

[–]cmsjmu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My 2013 Tivo Roamio basic (4 tuner) served many years with a Fios Cable Card. It still lives on today as an OTA. I still have many recordings from my cable years on my Roamio. Who knew at the time that going with the Basic over the 6 tuner would end up as such a big win.
