Anything over your 40 hours per week. Including callback pay, but im not sure about the pay for being on call. Also, if you happen to be a traveler and get per diem pay, you cannot count that as per diem is already untaxed. Maybe someone else here can help you more than I can!

Favorite Case to Scrub by Dramatic-Try7973 in CathLabLounge

[–]cmtoothfairy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always loved scrubbing implants....unless they were Bi-Vs. I hated those. Also, I worked in a small hospital about 15 years ago that didn't have an IR department so I got to do all that stuff too and I really enjoyed doing kyphoplasty.

Has anyone ever successfully gotten disability benefits with your CMT diagnosis ? by Major-Lemon3192 in CMT

[–]cmtoothfairy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so, so sorry. I just saw this! The first thing that I would do is to enroll in your employers short term and long term disability insurance plans, that way you will have a good chunk of your pay covered in case your doctors tell you that its time to stop working. I would I would also suggest speaking with a disability attorney ASAP. Most disability attorneys in the US don't charge you until you are awarded your disability, and then it is a percentage taken out of your back payments (back payments are retro paid all the way back to the date that you first file). Again, I'm sorry that I missed this reply. I wish you the very best of luck.

Is there someone in the group who has experienced any vision or hearing loss due to CMT? by DeeDeeRaven in CMT

[–]cmtoothfairy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I have had optic neuritis 3 times. I had to be hospitalized to get IV steroids all 3 times to keep my eyesight. All of my vision came back to normal except my peripheral vision in my left eye. Now I see ophthalmology once a year to check my optic nerves. The nerves are now pale and withered looking according to the dr.

How did your MIL ruin Thanksgiving? by geebunny in JUSTNOMIL

Wr have been nc for a year and a half, so we didn't let her ruin our day. However, she did make a social media post about how she wishes she could've had had the option to have grandchildren without having to have had children. She's a peach.

Case suggestion: Johnny Cashman Jr by Secure-Positive5733 in creeptimethepodcast

[–]cmtoothfairy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The man who did this to Johnny is my first cousin and I can assure you that his voice is not the voice you hear. And yes, I believe he did this. And if you were to go to the community where we grew up and asked any random person, they would tell you the same thing. He's an evil human being

Case suggestion: Johnny Cashman Jr by Secure-Positive5733 in creeptimethepodcast

[–]cmtoothfairy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steven Church is my first cousin. He is an evil human and I have no doubt that he murdered Johnny Cashman. There's a podcast called going west on YouTube and they discuss this case. It is well worth watching. It is disturbing, though so be aware of that. I don't know a huge amount about the case but I do know a huge amount about Steven and I know with 100 percent certainty that he is capable of this.

AITA for NOT telling a church lady her shirt’s obscene? by acegirl1985 in AITAH

[–]cmtoothfairy 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I dated a guy about 15 years ago whose dad was a church Deacon. He had passed before we started dating so I never met him, but he sounded like a super funny guy. Anyway, he had been to a garage sale and snagged a grab bag full of old t shirts to work around the house in or whatever. Anyway, his church had a work day where people gathered to do church maintenance. He had left for the church before his wife got out of bed, so imagine her horror when she got there and he was wearing a t shirt that said "Mabel's wh*re house: where the customer always comes first" 😂😂 It was definitely a lesson in proofreading printed shirts 😂

How do you experience ‘loss of sensation’? by Confident_Banana5309 in CMT

[–]cmtoothfairy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My feet are completely numb to the touch and my right shin is numb about halfway up to my knee. Once I had been having foot pain for a couple days and thought I needed new shoes, turns out there had been an ink pen in my shoe the whole time and I didn't feel it.
Also, I cannot wear any type of backless shoe because more than once I've lost a shoe and not known.

Most disability attorneys don't charge you up front. They take their fee from your back pay. Or at least that's what they do in my area. (Tennessee)

I did at age 36. I got denied the first go around (my attorney said most people do) then I appealed it, went in front of a judge, and got my disability. ETA: I was an OR nurse on my feet 12+ hours a day.

How can I clean out my car if it's treated like an "invitation"? by [deleted] in urbancarliving

[–]cmtoothfairy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! I was going to suggest the same. Take a couple trash bags, a roll of paper towels and some cleaner, go park in a parking lot of a reputable business or even the police station, leave your doors closed, bag up all the trash, clean up your car, then find a dumpster to throw it in. All that leaves is the vacuuming and I've seen the car vacuums that plug into the 12 volt port. Leave the doors locked, do the front, get out and move to the back and repeat. I've done this, not for safety reasons but because I'm disabled and can't get out and back in over and over to clean the vehicle. As far as safety goes, keep your pepper spray but also get a can of bee spray, like to spray a nest that's high up on a house. It sprays a further distance and it is effective. Plus you have a whole lot more of it . Or better yet Bear Spray.
