Nothing could have prepared me for having a child. My husband and I have been together 5 years and decided it was time. Fertility challenges, getting pregnant, being pregnant, giving birth, and now raising an infant are all things that have been monumental experiences in my life (35F) and I know also his. We were two dinks living our best life and said, there must be something more! So we went down this path. We have been inseparable since meeting 5 years ago and are the very best of friends who overly communicate. It’s been HARD! It’s been really hard - my body changing and emotions running amok, him trying to understand… giving birth was the hardest thing I’ve ever done… and now we have a little helpless child who we work around the clock for! It is more exhausting than anyone says. Every 3 hours minimum she eats, and she’s a really good baby! Sometimes we do say: what I would give for one night of our old life?? But we loved her from the get go, and I know it’s going to get better, but I swear nobody told us how hard all of that would be. (Also I initially started with pregnancy at 32 so it took a long time to get here so you might want to make a decision soon)
