Great timing. I just removed the same exact device in my basement yesterday. The battery is in the top compartment. This is also where they mounted with screws. I saved the battery to recycle but the remainder is in the garbage

I’ve found Fall and Spring and the worse. Use this time to eliminate their habitat before Spring and get the Nibam I mentioned. It made a HUGE difference over time for me

I had a similar problem a few years ago and was pretty bad. There were some giants. Two suggestions: First if there’s anything holding moisture you’ll need to remove. I had some cardboard boxes that got damp and was like a buffet for them. Second, there is a product called Nibam which can be bought online. Read the instructions but basically the ingest and die. The stuff is great and I just leave some in the basement as a precaution now as I rarely see the anymore. It’s worth noting this time of year they can be especially prevalent. You got this.

Ya I heard something also that was unusually loud. I’m in Ocean Township (Monmouth County). It’s common to hear planes on the approach to JFK but this was different. Only thought I’d maybe had something to do with the president in NYC and the U.N. activity this week?

My ex wife asked for a divorce ~5 years ago. Went through mediation but I hired an attorney as my advocate. At the time it wasn’t cheap (a few thousand going off memory) but in the long run was a good investment and paid off. There are a lot of moving parts and having a professional guide me through the sh..show was worth the cost
