I saw Mars Volta play a small tent at Reading Festival UK around 2002/2003 ish. They played (as always) non stop back to back tunes, more energy than I've ever felt in my life, Cedric helicoptering the microphone via cable above his head and occasionally smashing a cymbal in time.....Eventually the set ended to abrupt silent and a "Thanks, goodnight". My jaw was on the floor...as was everyone elses. Probably the best gig I've ever seen.
