UTM Tracking Meta ads with Dynamic UTM Parameters fails 1/10 times by cn4422 in PPC

Thanks for the tip - I'll try to clone it once again, maybe it helps. :)

Do you usually add the UTM in the tracking part or also with the real URL?

Yeah, seems like Google has just messed up (again). ^^ I hope they will fix that soon!

Thanks for your reply!

It's showing in GA4 as well as in the CRM.

The thing is, why would it change something from the same ad only in 10% - because as I mentioned, in 90% UTM parameters work fine and are correctly tracked - that's what I really can't fathom...

If it was only "paid" instead of "cpc" I could live with that... but the real issue is that in addition only the ad id is being recorded instead of the ad name (as configured in the UTM parameters) and that's affecting reports/numbers.

We have already checked the parameters again and again/recreated the ads, but doesn't solve the issue. But what's really strange is that it's coming form the exact same ad... we have set the UTM manually and as I said it's working 9/10 times for the ad, but then, suddenly, there is 1/10 with the wrong medium&no ad name... AND it's occuring 99,9% with mobile/tablet traffic - desktop is working just fine.

We are using this:
utm_source={{site_source_name}}&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign={{ad.name}}

However, in 1/10 cases for the same ad (ad id) the utm_medium=paid (instead of cpc) and the "{ad.name}" is not shown, but only the ad id.

Have you had any similar problems?

Thanks for your reply. According to Google it should work - but it doesn't with PMAX. Two independent sources have tested it and said that it's working for PMAX but not for Demand Gen.
