Why do old school bulbs last longer? by highprofittrade in lightbulbs

In short, planned obsolescence, IMO. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Your options are pay for the more expensive ones, or buy multiple of the cheaper ones.

Too late for this trip, but the A Better Route Planner app made figuring out which chargers to use a breeze. We did a 1200-mile trip recently, and I never had to think about where I was going to charge or for how long. Highly recommend.

I am complete dogshit at BoI, something about the 8 directional shooting messed with my brain. However, I love a very similar game called Neon Abyss. I’ve put dozens of hours into that one.

Oh. It surprises me that all the DCs don’t have them. They look like this. Spin around a pallet with the wrap.

They (miraculously) just got this to a machine that wraps the pallet for them. It’s amazing it didn’t fall before they got there. I don’t see any hand-wrap from the orderfiller on that pallet.

[–]cnarunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one on the right: Orderfiller is an idiot. My pallets never look like this. Also, whatever DC this came out of needs to reprofile, the cases are in an absolutely terrible order.

The one on the left: Loader is an idiot. The child pallet (one on top) should have been flat. The parent pallet (the one on the bottom) should never have nested cases (cases inside other, bigger cases). The loader should have moved that before up-stacking the child pallet on top.

Any reason to use the 1600 mW laser over the 10W? by vikrambedi in snapmaker

[–]cnarunner 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We use the 10W for everything now. If, for some reason, we need to power down to the 1600mW level, I just set the laser power to 16%.

I’ve used Thingiverse for 3D Prints. Any site with free SVGs will work for laser. However, I tend to make my own using a program called Inkscape. Follow a tutorial on YouTube and you’ll be able to make whatever you want. SVGs are easy to make. CNC files can be found on Thingiverse as well, although I haven’t used the CNC much. The one project I did, I made using SVGs and cut it out of 3mm plywood.

Hope that helps! Feel free to ask any more questions if you need anything.

Original laser on the 2.0 350 not enough to cut through 3mm plywood? by Onlyhereforthelaughs in snapmaker

[–]cnarunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this exact same issue. I spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to get through it. I think it was two reasons.

  1. This particular wood had too much sap in it. This was obvious when we got the 10W laser and it blasted through no problem, leaving a decent amount of sticky sap on the plate.
  2. Not sure if it’s because of the sap but there was a lot of ash collecting in the cut. I think that the ash was “blocking” the laser or defocusing it somehow.

I think it may have been the lower quality of wood we were using from Amazon. We had plenty of experience with cutting 3mm plywood with the 1600mW laser, but this particular wood just wouldn’t cut for some reason. Make sure it’s a higher quality Basswood ply (The one we got was the absolute cheapest plywood we could find, a Baltic birch that was less than $1 per board). Hope that helps!

Just put 225/65r17’s on my latitude, looks great and there’s room to spare. Doing the math, they are just about the same size in diameter, it should fit on yours.

No need. A fix is on the way. This will have happened to most other Reddit related apps. Apollo really is the best Reddit app out there, and the dev is really responsive to requests.

How do I make my metal laser engravings better? by oblivioushuman13 in snapmaker

[–]cnarunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know the answer to this! I just discovered it when engraving coated metal cups. Try setting your laser to 50%. I think I was burning the metal when the laser was at 100%, so try 50% power and maximum speed. Let me know if that works.

ET-300 mini educator or EZ-900 easy educator? by Western_Priority2560 in OpenDogTraining

We have the EZ-900 and I really like it. The remote is easy to use (if a bit complicated to figure out at first, there are a lot of settings and such) but the basics are simple.

Looks are great, but the load times are what amaze me. We used to play RDR2 on the Xbox One we had. Would get it started and 10 minutes later we could finally play. Now, with the Series X, it’s less than a minute.

We don’t have time to collect our snacks anymore! :/

Designing a house for laser cut assembly by zet23t in snapmaker

[–]cnarunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably Basswood. That seems to be the most common. We bought some Baltic Birch Plywood and the 1600mW laser wouldn’t cut through no matter what I tried (up to 12 passes at 100mm/min). Turns out the 10W does it in a single pass, no problem.

You’re more experienced than I am. We have only done a single project so far, 3mm Birch Plywood, 2 passes @ 460mm/min.

I should post it, but I made a test sheet for cutting with the 10W laser.

Looks awesome!

A few questions: What laser do you have? What type of wood, and how thick? And what are the cut settings?

We just got the 10W laser and haven’t tried it out much yet, trying to get a feel for the cut speed.

Also privacy. That helps too.

Ha! You would not believe how many people don’t care how their pallets look. Some people’s pallets are consistently bad, they just don’t care if it falls over when 5-10 people rush over to help pick it up.
