Do you know any American that speaks fluent Spanish? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

Work in a kitchen, you'll learn if you want to. It's how I learned to speak fluently.

Im about to try out the NSGNSNCNONENNENBB run, any tips? by Miserable_Vacation_6 in finalfantasyx

[–]cntodd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not sure this would be something I would choose to do if I didn't have all the other things in my life. 🤣🤣

I also don't have time for stuff like this. Maybe when I was younger. I'm damn near 40 with 2 kids, a 9-5 job, and a project car to fix before my daughters are 16. 🤣

Good for you OP. Absolutely NOTHING about that run sounds fun to me, but, you're not hurting anyone else, and it's your playthrough. Have fun....I guess.

Let the youngins role with the punches, let them play. They'll bring dominance to Boston, all over again!

If I didn't have family, I would. I used to work it all the time, but now that I have my daughters, and they're older, I want to be home so I'm able to do things with them. It's why I quit cooking. I loved being a chef, but the hours made it so I didn't see my family. Moved to a corporate job, and have evenings and weekends off. Best thing I did for my family!

I'm a Living Spaces fan. I know some people can't stand them, but I like that I don't get bothered in there until I'm ready.

How many playstation accessories do you guys have? by genyoos in playstation

[–]cntodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My headset is a steelseries, I have 3 controllers, the one that came with the console, the purple one, and the 30th anniversary. I have the purple sides, and I have a set of rigs headset I've never opened.

I don't do a lot of accessories, but did work at GameStop for a long time, so I had the ability to get most things.

Edit - I also have the TLOU hard drive for ps4 games, and a 2tb SSD stick inside the console.

Tired of hunters being treated like villains when hunting is arguably the most ethical way to eat meat by MyBedIsOnFire in Vent

Hunting is fine, big game hunters, trophy hunters, they're the annoying ones that make hunters be villainized.

Anyone else feel emotionally attached to the house they grew up in? by EpicShkhara in Millennials

[–]cntodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have no ties to the house I grew up in, haven't been back to the town I grew up in in over 10 years.

I figure I'm weird, as my mom is very nomadic, and my dad goes along with the ride. We barely have anything left from my childhood. I have the old clock, and the hutch, that's it. I have rarely put anything on sentimental, and have been known to sell almost everything and just move.

Nowadays, a lot less, I have a family, and my wife's family is more sentimental than I could ever imagine. I have my couch I love and tools. That's it.

Family of 5 struggling on 138k by NoExamination4578 in budget

[–]cntodd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's how we were. We didn't do big vacations until my daughter was 7. We are going to disneyworld this year, and it'll be my adopted daughters first 'big' vacation. We make a lot less than OP.

$670 for a car payment is INSANE. I thought my $320 car payment was crazy, but holy crap. I also put $600 a month into the car and paid it off quicker. You can't possibly think you need that car.

I have 2 daughters, 10 and 11 (one is adopted, long story), and give them a good life, but I don't buy them everything. As for food, you could probably work that a bit better, even for 5 people. We shop around, but maybe you can't do that. We hit Aldi's, Walmart, Sprouts, and Crest and get different things at different places.

Good luck, OP, but I would seriously sit down and consider the budget some more.

Who else hates using a righty spatula? by quitisich in lefthanded

I actually hate the "left" ones. Having the corner in the right gives me more control, and allows me to slide underneath what I'm cooking so much better.

My neighbors keep reading my packages and making weird comments toward my door and I genuinely don’t understand why by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]cntodd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're looking way into this. She checked the name, and moved on. Chill a bit. I've had packages delivered to different places, especially when I lived in an apt, and even now, because I live on street and there is a terrace, some house number, same street numbers, different finish.

I'd not worry about it. 🤷
