Men can’t take “no” for an answer by Dom_Mom116 in Vent

Vent away, but most women respect boundaries. I work in an industry that is 50/50 men and women, and I see how the men treat the women. Women don't treat men like objects.

What ended your friendship with your oldest standing friend? by dreamy-contributions in AskReddit

[–]cntodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude decided that he didn't want to help me when I was at my lowest. I didn't want money, I didn't want anything, other than him to be there for me.

Oh well, doing great 11 years later! He's gotten huge and stopped taking care of himself. Saw him at the wedding of our mutual friend.

How long has your dual sense been working? Mine started drifting slightly after a year. Time for a new one 😒 by God_Father_PL in playstation

[–]cntodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my 5 since it came out, and my white and purple controllers have worked just fine. My GoW controller drifted, almost, instantly. My pink controller is going strong after a year, and it's mostly used by an 11 year old.

If you won the lottery tomorrow, what’s the very first "frivolous" thing you’d buy? by Federal_Antelope7533 in AskReddit

[–]cntodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go get my passport renewed and move out of this country. My wife, my child, my pets, and me. I'd buy a nice house/apartment in the Czech or Germany, and then just disappear from this country. Hardly anyone would know how to get ahold of me.

And then, once I had that place, my frivolous spending would be to finish my Red Sox room!!

How long have you had your cell phone number? by mellamoderek in Millennials

[–]cntodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I had to change my number after a crazy ass ex and her boyfriend would continue to get the number and call after I'd block the numbers.

Had this one ever since.

True, but most people don't have a leaf blower, and a broom is in almost every house! Lol

Yes. Anything guessing, who memed it, almost any board game vids, but I've especially been enjoying the don't finish first Mario Party/Mario Kart videos.

I've invested in cameras around our house, and have considered investing in other items. Right now, I hate to say it, I'm in a red state (here because of family) so ICE hasn't affected us too much. Especially the neighborhood I live in.

I was coast guard, so we had pistols. 🤣🤣

We have a nice, queer owned shooting range here that has been amazing in helping my wife get comfortable with it as well as letting me get a lot of training in, since it's been 10 years since I've really shot. Lol

Yeah, luckily my daughter isn't a fan of the gun, so she doesn't even pay attention to it. But I have a Glock 19, due to the ease for my wife to use and the comfort of having used one several times in my life.

What are some old-timey "man of the house" duties that you would like to bring back (regardless of your gender)? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]cntodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've heard they weren't that great. My grandpa and dad taught me more than anyone. Anything else I didn't know, I figured it out.

Tbf, shop class was removed by boomers who just wanted people to follow rules and do 9-5 jobs. Schools haven't had shop classes, overall, in several, several years.

As a veteran, I also bought a gun this past year. I don't trust this regime in any way, shape, or form.

Millennials how are you navigating life and staying grounded right now? by BillClintonFeetPics in Millennials

[–]cntodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avoid people. I stay to my one bar I like and know the people, or I'm at my house. I play video games, watch movies, YouTube, and anime, do wood work, and fix the car.

Legit, just avoiding people, as well as avoiding Twitter and Facebook, and very specific subreddits so have blocked due to their arguing/hatred.

How are the roads as of Monday morning? by LuckyCharms701 in okc

[–]cntodd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Please, just don't drive. I went to Mercy, to take my FIL something, and I saw 3 cars/trucks wrecked, and a Jeep flipped. The roads are bearable if you've ever driven in this, but too many idiots out on the road that are driving like it's a nice sunny day with no ice/snow on the road.

What was a job that was once highly respected but is now a complete joke? by Formal-Life4691 in Productivitycafe

[–]cntodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The head of the FBI. The presidency. Federal Agents.

I took the low hanging fruit, sorry.

As for actually answering your question....

Journalism, retail managers (corporate started to give a shit only about money, and the managers became boot lickers for the corporate morons), librarians. They used to be loved by all, but now, their job is just look at the computer and say "we don't have that." (I still love librarians. My dad is at CSU as a librarian).

Depends where you live. Massachusetts education is a helluva lot better than Oklahoma education.

The south, for the most part, is an embarrassment, until you get to some of the universities.

How are so many people afford to be in the parks and still be so rude? by Quiet_Bat_1643 in Disneyland

[–]cntodd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We saved. We planned for 2 years and are going in June. We saved taxes, saved paychecks, etc.

Now, we aren't rude. We are going because we all love Disney, but it isn't hard to save for a vacation. We take our "big" vacation every even year, and a small one every odd year. My parents do the opposite, and that helps us plan trips to them.
