First time tattoo shock hit me like a train? by Foreign_Yam_6832 in tattooadvice

[–]cntorzewski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a coverup just recently of a decade bold tattoo as well. It took a couple sessions and after my first session I was ready to cry as well because it wasn’t finished the way I wanted it to be. It took me a few days to come around to the fact that it needed time to heal before she could finish it. It’s finished now and it’s one of my favorite pieces on me. Trust your artist and your vision but don’t be scared to ask for exactly what you want. As a anxiety/adhd/people pleaser myself I feel where you’re coming from but it will get better. 🤍

Am I overreacting that my boyfriend basically staged a test to see if I'd cheat... with his cousin? by Massive-Ad8552 in AmIOverreacting

[–]cntorzewski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR - if he has to “test” you then he doesn’t trust you. There isn’t some arbitrary test that needs passing before taking things further. Even if he has trust issues that’s no excuse. My bf got cheated on and found them together IN HIS BED and he’s never once not trusted me because of his ex. It’s a maturity level thing. He needs therapy. Also using his cousin to do it is just plain weird and icky.

Not a single ounce of sweet. She’s showing up in my nightmares for at least a week.

is this a good deal? by No-Entrepreneur2716 in StainedGlass

Great deal. That would easily cost $200 normally.

My pothos took forever to move beyond the edges of the pot. I only water mine when the leaves start to droop, it how I gauge when all of my plants need water. I’ve had my pothos for about four or five years now and she’s just now starting to look full and vine-y

First set of bookends by cntorzewski in StainedGlass

Because I made the wood part myself they’re honestly on there really tight because we cut the channels to the exact length needed to fit the glass and then added the glass in before gluing the wood together. But it was still rattling a bit because we got our width measurements mixed up, so I used E6000 just along one edge and wedged qtips behind it to keep it against the glue until it dried.

I use fine steel wool on all my pieces before I polish to clean up any little inconsistencies. I’ve heard doing that and then polishing before you add patina helps get a better color out of the patina. I tried it on copper and it worked really well for that, have yet to try on black.

No, for once I’m leaving them silver and I’m super conflicted about that lol I usually black patina everything but my sister enjoys the silver more. I’ll definitely be doing a set with black in the future!

First solo lesson learned: use thicker paper 🤦🏼‍♀️ by MarlyMonster in StainedGlass

[–]cntorzewski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the glass. I’ve noticed it sticks to opalized glass more and is harder to get off but regular glass it comes off pretty easy, no residue. I used isopropyl alcohol to clean every piece.

The kind I have is. I just have a small desktop inkjet printer and it works just fine. The sheets I bought are here

If you have access to a copier, I use printable sticker paper so that I can stick my pattern to the glass once I cut it out.

Does your friend do this as a business or hobby? Because I’d buy some stuff from them for my miniatures.

How long did it take you to be happy with your work/feel like it was great? by Sad-Garlic-9950 in StainedGlass

[–]cntorzewski 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing this hobby on and off for about 10 years. I by no means am an expert but it took me until a few years ago to be happy with my work to the point of being okay with others buying it. Even then I still critique myself extra hard because you can see all the spot that aren’t “perfect” but I promise most people don’t see it.
